Stopped here after our ferry ride from Sydney. Tons of restaurants to choose from but this one just seemed to call out to me. Fish Shack - it even sounds good!! I had the Beer Battered Fried Hake Fish and Chips. Others had the grilled fish, onion rings which were also good. It was nice too to not get charged for ketchup here!! Prices about average from what I've seen. Service was fast and good. Nice views of the ocean. Nothing fancy here but it was a very good meal - we all enjoyed it and then took a stroll along the beach after.
Wanted a light lunch so went to the Fish Shack for fish and chips take away. Having waited a long time we eventually got our order and sat down overlooking the beach . The fish was partially battered and what batter there was , was swimming in oil ( perhaps the batter they are alluding to is how they kill the fish !) The chips were alright though . Customer deserves better
Don't bother eating in. Staff are all over the shop and very little experience by the looks of things - who brings entrees out at 10 mins after the main meal?Fish average at best - funnily enough the entrees are better than the mains. At $160 for a family of 5 (including a seating surcharge on weekends of $15, the place just doesn't stack up.
No doubt, there was an abundance of fish and chips in my take away, and where better to go than to sit right across the street to enjoy the beach, the waves, the surfers and the dusk? I'm 7000 miles away, and the taste and the view are still a good memory.

Stopped here after body boarding with the family. Good simple battered fish, prawns and squid with oysters on the side. Very fresh and tasty. Staff friendly and attentive. Good choice of beer and wine. No hassles and lovely ocean view over the road.
We ordered a fish and chips to go and went and ate it down by the beach, it was a nice snack for two to share. Only $12.90 for the Hoki with two large pieces of fish and lots of fries. This was a good deal along a fairly pricey line of restaurants.
Give this place a miss! Boasting the best fish and chips? Cold, greasy and over cooked. Cardboard comes to mind. And since when is a Caesar Salad a bowl of lettuce? Only paid for drinks and walked out! Straight to Manly Grill!
We ordered seafood platter and at $32.90 seemed reasonable, except only small pieces of fish, two oysters a prawn stick all covered in thick horrible batter. Try another cafe plenty to choose from on the strip

The prices were a little bit expensive but that's understandable considering its location. Good view of the beach along the strip. The food was fine, no problems there but wasn't spectacular either.
