We normally love this place, it is great for a party of 2-4 , however anything more and the service is terrible and so is the food. We made a reservation in advance for a party of 16. It took 3 hours to get our food and when they brought it out they brought it out in pieces. Some of our party got only their entree, some of our party only got their sides and then some received nothing, then 15 20 min later... some of us received the other part of our dinner , while some in our party were still missing sides and one never got anything. easy experience and the most bad customer service of the owner. my wife and I had our POST-WEDDING ceremony dinner in the private essay; a place where they pay good money to timeliness, prompt, attentive service, great eating (as our menu was created in advance), and all that works like clockwork. we went to flame last Thursday after our shopping trip. in reservations we sat immediately. it is a beautiful restaurant and perfect for a celebration or a romantic date. the waiter is perfectly attentive to see their needs. we had a dozen oysters on the half-shell, and we split a dry 14 oz rib with a double-baked kartoffel. first our waiter brought us a popover and mini-limonez muffins with butter. so good! the oysters were fantastic! the nativity was perfect and of course the kartoffel was good. this is a really great restaurant! we're coming back!
the best steakhouse in springfield. excellent starters, wine selection, seafood and steaks. pricey but worth it for special occasions or just a really good meal. the personal is very friendly and knowledgeable and very well trained. my wife and I went here to our first date and then became there a year and a half later, so it's hard for me to be completely objectiv. very nice, quiet, demanding atmosphere. in mind: the appetizers are amazing (especially the calamari) and very big so tempo themselves, so they don't fill before the amazing main courses.

I have dined previously at Flame and had a good experience, but tonight was not satisfactory. I had reservations, yet my companion and I were seated at a very exposed, tiny table. We had a nice, male server who did a fine job, but I ordered a rare filet and got a sub-par cut of meat cooked to nearly medium-well. Needless to say, for the price I paid, I expected much more.
Ugh am I the only one in springfield that thinks this place is a rip?? Time and time again I have been out to dinner here for different occasions and everytime I am left with the same feeling of being robbed. The last time I was there my potato side was burnt and I don't mean just crispy. Honestly the best part of going there is being drink at the end of it.
I'll eat here first. the service was excellent. the popover bread and the mini-muffins were wonderful. oysters rockefeller were from this world. steak was very good. mac and cheese with lobster was excellent as the framed mais made with cream cheese and truffle oil. probably one of the best meals of my life.
Whats up with the mini chocolate chip muffins? The atmosphere is nice. But the food is way overpriced for what you get. With your $50 steak you get a baked potato and a mini chocolate muffin. Yes, one miniature chocolate chip muffin. WTF? How about some bread? And a salad with your $50 steak.

Good place for meat. Great atmosphere too. Stay away from the twice baked potato, it's a bit dry.
