The restaurant had a vibrant atmosphere on a Monday night, with a diverse crowd ranging from 21 to 71 years old enjoying rock and roll bingo in the spacious outdoor space. Most patrons were dressed nicely, giving it a more upscale feel rather than that of a dive bar or brewery. The venue featured interesting artwork and live fly trap plants scattered throughout. The beer selection was unique and worth a visit; the Kolsch was especially refreshing for a hot summer evening, as was their Mexican-style brew. Parking was easy and free on the street, and there was a food truck on-site. The staff were friendly, and the place was new and impeccably clean.
We greatly enjoyed our visit to Flytrap as tourists to Wilmington. They had a great selection of beers including sours and kolsch/pilsners, not the usual onslaught of IPAs. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Attractive art from local artists added to the vibe. Live music started later in the evening and was a perfect volume to be appreciated and still allow conversation. Satisfactory amount of carnivorous plants. Highly recommend!
My windows and I stumbled upon this place after a great dinner at Pinpoint. Loved the outside seating area and live music in the corner. The beer was great and it was a treat to be able to find a saison on tap, my personal favorite style. My wife alsoappreciated that they had a carefully selected natural wine list as well. Great experience and I left with a case of beer too??
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Flytrap. Brief walk from Front Street, a few blocks up. From the excellent service from Jarred, to the quality of the beers and decor, made for a fun date night stop. We arrived early so wasn't too busy and we know they frequently have food trucks onsite. Also have a good wine list and bottled beers to go. Will definitely visit again asap. Great outside area with firepits and picnic tables. Inside very nice as well. Homey and light vibe. Great selection of craft beers, ciders, wine. Staff is friendly and made great recommendations. Food trucks vary, awesome Asian Fusion truck when we went. You gotta go!
