Family of 4 visiting for a meal. We were seated in the little side room to the left as you enter the pub. It was a little cold and I didn’t want to risk turning the heater on as there were no legs on it and it looked a bit dodgy. Anyway the food wasn’t great overall. My partner had the chicken tikka with rice and Nan and he said that was nice but not enough of it. He ordered cheesy chunky chips and they seemed nice too to be fair. My and my son decided to just have deserts and mine was the chick fudge cake with cherry flavour and ice cream. Was nice enough but would have expected a slightly bigger slice for £6. Just back from the fox and feel I must write a review!! We were a party of 7 plus 2 dogs and booked in for Sunday lunch. What a fabulous pud, everything was perfect. The staff are amazing and very accommodating for us all, as mentioned before the side room was a bit chilly but it was 1 degrees outside) but they soon found us another table in the main bar. The Sunday roast was outstanding, all served fresh and hot. The deserts were also amazing!! Then free doggy ice cream for our 2 pouches. The prices are also very reasonable too. Couldn't fault our experience. I believe the venue has recently changed hands and had a bit of a make over. There is parking altgough the passage is tight for the larger vehicle. As for the food... lovely. The price was very reasonable. This is a now a nice village pub servicing good pub food. We'll definitely be going back.
My first visit. Called in for a mid-afternoon coffee. It was empty! Clean, comfortable, and a good cup of coffee. I prefer pubs without a TV in the corner and a lower-volume music system, but it is welcoming and the staff friendly and courteous. VERY tricky entrance to the car park; you've been warned!
