Explored Crows Nest last weekend and discovered Borruso's, an Italian casual dining restaurant, catering to vegan and vegetarian customers too! Service is top notch here and impressively quick. Macchiati $18.90) pasta was swimming in a rich Napoletana sauce with cream and parmesan. I loved the generous portion size, which would easily feed a party of two. The Mediterranean Pizza $21.90) was also incredibly massive and looked gorgeous with pops of red, green and black. came with a friend when it was in the first weeks of the opening and absolutely loved it! The pizza selections were varied and after our taste, but I liked especially the chilli oil, parmesan and garlic oil that they give them next to their pizza. there are small touches like these that increase the experience and make me come back. the pizza was absolutely delicious and the salad was beautiful. the service was great, the lady who took our command and waitress was so nice and the dinner as a whole was wonderful, can not wait to come back!
good selection of drinks. large vegan options a star only for it. we had the bruschetta, marinara and vegan gnocchi. we waited a long time to place our main order, but then the waiting staff was excessively attentive while we eat. the bruschetta was good, the marinara was ok, but got the type of pasta wrong and the gnocchi was tasteless, there was no sage and the gnocchi was dry and tasted as if it came out of a package. not impressed, because the gnocchi alone costs $21.90 we have something disappointed and overloaded for what we have.
It's date night for Matt and I. On this particular night we head to Borrusos in Crows Nest which is a new Italian restaurant for the area. Borrusos also has an established restaurant which has been in North Bridge for some time. . I've been on a bit of a health kick in 2019 and have been counting all my calories in an effort to be more healthy and to lose some weight. I've made some progress so far but I am finding that I can still eat delicious carby meals in moderation. I am looking forward to my meal at Borrusos! Réservez une table maintenant
actual evaluation: 3.5 the quality of the food was really great here, although the portions on the smaller end. we really have the marinara pasta $22.90,) burnt butter gnocchi $21.90) and penne fungo $21.90) that had a very strong truffle taste in addition to the creamy mushroom. the Spanish prawn pizza with chorizo, garnel, spanish wobble and roasted huh was also good $24.90)! the bruschetta was not very impressive, and I don't think that the piece would make it look aesthetic.
At Borruso’s, you can expect beautiful, homestyle Italian fare coupled with friendly, smiling service. I wholeheartedly support this local business and recommend that you visit them not only for their fabulous food but also to support their socially conscious culture, which adds $1 to every single bill to support the Eniwe Children’s Fund in Southern Africa. And, when you do visit, I’d highly recommend the garlic prawns and the apple and berry crumble for dessert!
I will give the Staff at front of house a 9/10 friendly and really looked after you. Mariana pasta, Mariana not made in house, think it can buy bulk from fish markets, pasta sauce was runny and no flavor did not even stick to the pasta , it was terrible could not finish. Pizza, was ok, good thin base which i like, guess it wasn't the same chef who made the Mariana.. would i go back again NO
Amazing, fresh and creative vegan menu!! Highly recommend the tandoori cauliflower pizza which was delicious and had a great combo of flavours. We also loved the burnt butter gnocchi and banana flambé was DELICIOUS! Food and drinks arrived quickly and our servers were lovely and attentive all night. 5/5 and can’t wait to return to try more things on the menu! Réservez une table maintenant
*Thank you Spooning Australia for this invite to this gem of a venue . Borruso’s in Crow’s Nest is a smallish eatery with dishes full of heart and heartiness. We were greeted from a team of staff that acted like a family and treated you as such as you walked in the door as well.
