We went here for lunch the day after St. Patrick's day and we were very impressed. Warm welcome as we entered, found a large enough table for us all, there is plenty of seating area. Very authentically decorated really felt we had walked into temple...bar! The food was excellent and just what we needed, two had the pie with veg and mash and the pie was packed with meat. Two had fish and chips which had delicious batter. The chips were amazing. They did a plain jacket and cheese for children but they were willing to make any of them childrens size which was lovely touch. Thank goodness we were there early enough to get a table we hadn't reserved in advance , 6pm the place was pretty full. Guinness was on tap so I ordered three pints while we checked the menu out. We left the starters.. and went straight for the Diavolo Burger, a Guinness Burger and a Fish n'Chips with peas. I was a bit disappointed with the size of the Diavolo Burger, rather small for nearly 15 Euro and they didn't have any Jalapeños to go with it. The weather was perfect to sit out on the terrace and enjoy the sun, breeze and watch the crowds. Some people were wearing traditional Oktoberfest garb. Had a tall Guiness and order a large Nachos. I can say the nachos were less then underwhelming. Not...well layered, clumps of cheese and only a smattering of ground beef. Atmosphere was the only plus.

This place was a nice way to spend an afternoon drinking... yes, your right Guinness. A very nice outdoor setting and nice wooden decor inside. The Nora Ora’s Lamb Stew simply a very good home-cooked quality meal. Rich with potato, carrot, celery and quality meat....The stew juice was not heavy, but tasty.
Enjoyable irish pub, they can be very good for events (and full) but everytime I did Halloween, Karneval, or whatever there I usually had a pretty good time. Food is quite good. Can also be nice in the summer if you were just around at...the park or trail and just feel like chilling out for a while.
food was really good and tasty and of course the drinks/beers. The only problem is that is really busy so staff is not as responsive plus for dinner, its a MUST to make a reservation.
These guys are setting out to provide a relaxed and lighthearted atmosphere in which to drink, eat and have some fun. A big crowd of us came here after dinner and managed just that.

Pubs like Fritzpatricks are not found in abundance in Essen. There is a good choice of beer and decent food. In good condition there is a good outside area to enjoy your pint.
