After a day skiing, I generally expect an evening meal in a restaurant with atmosphere (not necessarily busy), and serving a higher standard of fare than the mountain food I ate at lunch. Furka has neither. A bland interior, lacking either rustic charm, or modern chic. There were few other guests, and no attempt was made to fill the vacuum for example by background music.Although the restaurant did much to advertise the local speciality of the area, Cholera (a pie of vegetables, fruit and cheese), it was not available on our visit. A pity, as for obvious reasons, the posters generated much interest among our party. Most of us settled for one or other of the Rosti dishes, none of which were particularly good.Furka needs to try harder to pull in the guests. The mountain restaurants in the area serve much better food, even Cholera!
Locale sulla strada principale con parcheggio privato, frequentato dalla gente del posto. Ottimo menù con ricette locali e buona scelta di vini della zona, serviti anche a decilitri. Molto gustoso il Cholera. Proprietaria molto disponibile, anche se parla solo tedesco. Prezzi leggermente inferiori rispetto la zona. Possibilità di menù a prezzo fisso (20 CH)
Das Restaurant Furka in Mörel ist ein einfaches Speiselokal, direkt an der Furkastrasse gelegen. Die Speisekarte enthält insbesondere Walliser Spezialitäten wie Käsefondue und Raclette, die sehr gut zubereitet und freundlich bedient werden. Die Preise sind ausgesprochen günstig. Die Gaststube ist einfach eingerichtet, sauber und heimelig.
