I hadn't been to Germany for many years and was positively surprised about the new owner, the quality of the food, drinks, the great and always cold beer and the friendly atmosphere. I grew up in Kitzingen but moved to Thailand 15 years ago where I'm happily married and teaching English to Thai kids from primary to secondary level. Please don't misunderstand me when I'm writing that too many Turkish Doener Kebab ( or similar) places have popped up like unwanted mushrooms. Gambrinus is and always was a fantastic place where guests have the full package.1. Friendly staff, great food, from little snacks to decent German food. 2. This half century plus old quaint restaurant is located in the inner city near the 15th century marketplace. The food is prepared 'old style' with fresh produce. If you want to enjoy a 'real' German Schnitzel made from scratch and wash it down with locally brewed beer or wine from local vinyards, this would be the place. I can't wait to go back!!
Great, solid food at reasonable prices, drinks just like 's g 'listening, but above all, the staff like the boss himself is: absolutely on zack, nice, sympathetic and nice.
