I'm disappointed to share this about an African restaurant, but the Suya I tried was quite disappointing. It was dry and lacked any real flavor. It felt as if the meat had been sitting out for a while before being packaged and sold to me. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. They used to be in Union, and the food was much better there. Now that they are in Irvington, I have to give them a thumbs down.
I returned to try the Jollof rice, but unfortunately, I wasn't a fan. I also tried the meat pies, which come highly recommended on this app, but they were dry and difficult to swallow. Perhaps it was just a bad batch, so I can't recommend those dishes. However, I still plan to come back and support the restaurant for other menu items. Overall, it's a great spot for the other offerings.
As a Naija love love my Ghanaian cooking but there is one problem garden city will test your patience with waiting time. Called union shop 10 times no pick up. Yelp said they open at 10am. I gave dem 2hrs 15min. Drove to the Union restaurant at 12:15. The door was lock. God help us. Call!!!!! For another 5 times no answer. Had to take my money somewhere else.
The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, and the food is outstanding. My parents truly loved the Nigerian dishes. I don't have specific comments about how kid-friendly it is, but the food is definitely delicious. There's a small parking lot next to the restaurant, which can be a bit tight. I usually don't linger; I just pick up the Nigerian food for my parents. Réservez une table maintenant
The jollof rice and turkey were absolutely delicious. The customer service was excellent as well. I had been craving some West African food, and this place truly hit the spot!
The food is decent, but they occasionally struggle to follow specific requests. I ended up with all this fish to take home after asking for no fish.
This restaurant is owned by wonderful people who are always friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend it—100%!
