Two of us visited during lunchtime today, hoping to enjoy a Sunday roast that catered to vegetarians or vegans. Unfortunately, there were no alternative protein options available, not even a vegetarian sausage, which is offered on the breakfast menu. When we asked, we were only given vegetables. We inquired about a discount for a meal without meat, but we were told there was none. This experience feels quite insulting in 2023! The vegetarian options are frustratingly limited, especially for a Sunday roast. As for the service, we dined in, but overall it was disappointing.
I'm truly sorry to say this, but I had fish and chips today, and upon reflection, they were quite possibly the worst I've ever experienced. It was edible, but the batter was overcooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. The fish was bland and dry, and the chips were neither hot nor interesting—just dry and plain. I ended up using five packets of tomato sauce just to add some moisture. I have enjoyed many meals here before, but unfortunately, this one did not meet my expectations.
We have recently started visiting the café love it. Often signs saying short staffed (very common problem in the café business everywhere since COVID) but the service is still quick efficient food is lovely. Looking forward to our next visit soon! I ordered a full breakfast but didn’t want mushrooms or tomatoes. I wasn’t allowed to substitute anything else. When I requested an extra egg instead of those two items, I was informed that it would cost an additional £1.50! As a result, I ended up with only two-thirds of a full breakfast for the same price. Always clean and comfortable. Food is good, and wholesome. The coffee is good, and served hot. Nothing worse than a lukewarm coffee, not here though! Nice staff and good customer service!
Lovely staff but a disappointing lunch. Soggy quiche filled with almost raw stringy onion and not much else, accompanied by masses of tasteless lettuce with no dressing. Very average.

Best baked potato I've ever had in my life. Friendly waitresses, fast service. Yes its pricey but worth it.
