My brother and I booked this lovely hotel for my Mother's 90th birthday lunch with family. We were in a private room which was beautifully arranged with table flowers, white knapkins and a lovely cake stand. We chose this hotel as we have dined there several times previously and think their food and service is outstanding. We had organised drinks in the bar pre lunch which was all organised before going through for lunch. The staff had Mum's speciality cake all set up in the room. The meal was superb as before and everyone was very impressed with the menu available and the presentation of the dishes. I am normally quite fussy when visiting hotels. This is well run hotel with good well manicured gardens. The staff were great, almost overly enthusiastic. The hotel had a low turnover of staff which is a good sign. I had my Hotel Inspector/Ratatouille moment as I stuck my teeth in to a wonderful bowl of mushroom soup with added truffle oil as I listened to Edith Piaf background music. I had a full 3 course meal and breakfast. The room was good with fairly new decor and the bed was very comfy. Great hotel.
Everything was fabulous, food was amazing. The only thing I can fault them on is the drinks. The drinks were meant to be bottled but were dishes up in the glass. By the time we got them the juice was flat. Might have been poured from a large bottle for all the customer knows. Don’t like that. I like to put my own juice from the bottle into the glass and keep optimum fizz in it. I appreciate this is a nice restaurant so trying to keep bottles off the table but the juice was terrible.
We reserved the Garvock for my husband's funeral reception. The staff were incredibly helpful and we were truly pleased with our choice. The setting was picturesque, the room was comfortable, and the buffet was delicious. All of this helped give my late husband a beautiful farewell surrounded by loved ones. Thank you, Garvock.

Went here for special birthday.Had some fizz in lounge and order was taken The main menu was exceptional and the cafe menu wasn’t required.Service was excellent as was the delicious meal the six of us had.Unknown to us a birthday treat arrived….a real surprise. Many thanks for making this such a memorable occasion.
This is an old fashioned Hotel with welcoming staff, very good service and above all lovely food. Had booked a table, as had many, the restaurant was full and of mixed age groups. The Lunch Menu was excellent, well presented, tasty and friendly staff on...
Visited with my husband for dinner. Dining room beautiful, staff very attentive friendly. Food was amazing. We then spend a while in the lounge area enjoying a glass of wine. Would highly recommend.
We dined here for my mums 80th birthday. It was a wonderful to have a private dining room for our meal. Everything was fantastic (service, food, environment).
