Beautiful beer garden, was not so easy to find an open beer garden on Saturday in great weather. Actually incomprehensible. Good service, I wanted to leave a supplement because of germ-poor diet, I was unquestioned another one I could eat. Very tasty haxe, rind crispy, without being burned, with delicate meat. Half chicken very juicy. I would take off half a star because I had ordered extra without fresh garnish and then a lonely rosemary branch was stuck in the chicken. Stopped by here for lunch, Nürnberger style brats were good, sauerkraut was great, more mild than typical, and beer was the same as anywhere else...good. The out door sitting area is large and they advertised live music on certain nights. Decided to go back for...dinner the next night, but weather had closed the outside area. They have several reasonably priced dinner specials. Ordered Jäger Schnitzel with RahmSauce, Bär Kartoffeln (home fries) and Green beans along with a salad. All were very good. The only down side is only have two people waiting tables. They are friendly and very efficient, but as the Gast Haus filled up service slowed. By all the tables were full
Ich dachte mir, vorn Metzgerei-hinten Biergarten, kann nur gut sein. Leider wurde ich enttäuscht. Der Sauerbraten war kaum mit dem Messer zu schneiden. Geschmacklich auch die Klöße fade ....Das Kohlrabi Schnitzel war gut.Aber Bäume, wie von anderen beschrieben, konnte man vor lauter riesigen Sonnenschirmen nicht sehen ...Von anderen Gasthöfen verwöhnt, waren wir nicht begeistert.
After time spent at The Eagle’s Nest, we drive down the mountain to King’s Lake for lunch. I ordered the fish without the head (fish directly from the lake). My son had sausages of course! View of the lake was peaceful and relaxing. Short hike...up the mountain took us to a superb lookout point of the lake

Great restaurant. Staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is sensational, the hosts are phenomenal. Here is the most beautiful beer garden in which I have been so far. The hall invites you for great family parties and parties of any kind. Tradition meets modern
In the field service I am a lot in Bavaria but as good as in the Gasthaus Unterstein I have not eaten anywhere yet and at these reasonable prices. The staff very friendly and attentive and you notice these people understand their subject. At any time.
Walking my way from Berchtesgaden train station to the Explorer Hotel in Schönau, I've had a rain caused break at the Unterstoa. The beer and the food was really good quality and the staff young, pretty and friendly ;)
Das Essen war sehr gut, herrlicher Biergarten, nur die Wirtin ist ein wenig grantig. Aber vielleicht hatte sie nur einen schlechten Tag. Kommen trotzdem gerne wieder wenn wir in Schönau sind.
