It's hard to imagine many people will end up in Lagnau, Switzerland by accident, but Restaurant zum goldenen Löwen (The Golden Lion Restaurant) makes it worth the trip. It's not too far from Bern and is directly across the tracks from the Lagnau train station, so getting there is easy (we spent the night in Lagnau, however, so be sure to check post dinner train times). While it is not tacky, per se, the decor and lighting leave a bit to be desired, and the bill will definitely punch you in the wallet (particularly my American wallet), but that's where the cons end. My husband and I celebrated our wedding here two weeks ago and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The service was excellent, everyone was really very courteous and incredibly friendly, the versatile 4-course summer menu was an absolute highlight and very tasty, everything matched the wonderful ambience in the beautiful winter garden. The value for money for what we got was also great! Special thanks go to Ms. Häfliger for the great and stress-free organization and to Michelle for the fantastic and very humorous support on site. It was really delicious. The dish was detailed. The atmosphere was really great. We also got the complimentary from the restaurant, we love it but we don’t know the name . They even have English menu. The staffs are really friendly and can give you advice for the wine and food. The owner are also friendly, she came by and say hi to us there. The restaurant also have parking space there, no worries if you go there by cars. I really recommended!! Must try
