We went here for my mom's bday and we loved our experience. For starters, we ordered the Bam Bam Shrimp and Blackberry BBQ chicken wings and both were so good. The shrimp was crispy and the spicy remoulade drizzled on top of it was just the right amount and wasn't too spicy. The Blackberry BBQ was moist and not too sweet. For my entree, I ordered the fried chicken with grilled mac and cheese. The chicken had a nice crisp and was also moist on the inside like the wings. I have never had grilled mac and cheese before and I liked the one that they had here. The ambiance of the restaurant was excellent, and the service was commendable. It offers outdoor, indoor, and backyard dining options. The portion size of the fish and chips was impressive for the price. I found the batter to be slightly salty, though others might appreciate it. The Cajun seasoning on the fries was fantastic, and the gumbo was packed with great flavors. If I could only choose one dish to order, it would likely be the gumbo. The beignets weren't particularly groundbreaking, but they made for a pleasant conclusion to the meal. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

The restaurant name sounded familiar because I used to drink at the Broken Record up on Geneva St. and the bartender highly recommended it. My friends who had cocktails said their drinks were good. We ordered the cajun wings $14 to start and all their entrees except for the beans and rice. Fish and chips $17, crawfish pot pie $20, cajun pasta $20, gumbo $22, bbq platter $24 and fried chicken $32. We all thought the food and service was excellent. Well done staff at Gentilly.

I had a craving for Creole and Southern food, and this was one of the few places in the city that fit the bill, and it did not disappoint. The gumbo was exceptional, and the hush puppies were a classic delight. The drinks were also top-notch, even if you’re just stopping by for beverages. Plus, the prices are quite reasonable considering the quality of the food.
The food was absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you're in search of comforting dishes and delightful drinks, this is the spot. I tried the Cajun pasta, while my partner had the crayfish mac and cheese (which was a special; I hope they add it to the menu). We also enjoyed beignets for dessert! Yum!
A group of friends reserved the patio area for their event, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. The food and drinks were exceptional. I tried the mac and pulled pork, and it was the best I've ever tasted. I will definitely be returning to explore more of the menu!
Delicious food! Nice staff and atmosphere. If you're looking for heart warming dishes and lovely drinks this is the place.. I've had the Cajun pasta, my better half the crayfish mac'n cheese (this was a special, hope they put it on the menu) and beignetsfor dessert! Jummie

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was outstanding. The BBQ chicken for two was incredibly delicious. The restaurant has an interesting backstory and managed to thrive despite opening during the pandemic. I’ll definitely be returning!
