George's Tradition

First time we’ve visited George’s. What is assumed the manager who greeted us was brilliant. Clearly has a passion for restaurant work/his job and was nice and bubbly, just what you want upon entry. Slight disappointment as we booked and did have to wait a...couple of minutes for a table where they didn’t seem overly busy. Menu was as expected, food was delicious. Only other slight is that our server was very much inconsistent. Came over within a couple of minutes to take a drinks order which we weren’t ready for, then didn’t see him for minutes. I've been wanting to come here for years, and while it was nice was somewhat quite disappointed. The scotch egg starter wasn't anywhere near what I expected (deep fried slice of battered pork topped with a fried egg) the waffle's and chicken a tad dry...(waffle's seemed like the shop brought premade ones) had about a teaspoon of coleslaw on the plate. The cocktails tho very nice are very expensive each) I had the British trifle cocktail although was absolutely gorgeous was quite small for was Very busy and was quite long waits for things but to be expected for valentine's Day. Today, I took my granddaughter and her partner out for lunch. I decided to have the cod pakoras, which were delicious as always. However, the girls ordered the Christmas dinner and it was not good. The roasted vegetables were not cooked properly, the Yorkshire pudding was overdone, and the turkey was dry. The gravy was watery as well. I complained and to their credit, they removed it from the bill. The waiter was very apologetic, but I question why they would serve a special meal that they cannot execute well when their regular menu is so diverse and caters to everyone. I may think twice about returning to this restaurant.

This is a very large restaurant right in the heart of the City Centre so ideally located after having a few pre dinner drinks. We were shown to a really cute table made to be a beach hut with the name Brighton'! Love things like that! My starter fishcake was so huge it could have been easily a main course happy I hadn't ordered a main! We all thought the food was terrific and such good value for money. Service was excellent too. When we are back in Nottingham we will definitely be going back! Réservez une table maintenant

The service was slow, with staff appearing disinterested and preoccupied on their phones. Although the food arrived promptly, it did not meet expectations. The brioche bun was actually a stale bread roll and the sweet potato fries were limp and oversaturated. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant in the future.

Really disappointed, waited nearly an hour for food yet we weren't warned there would be a wait. Most of the food qas good, except my roadt chicken, nearly for a piece of burnt chicken and luckwarm vegetables. Overall very pricey for what we had,...wouldn't return.

The food came quickly and correctly, very big healthy portions that we had to take home because we could not finish it. Servers were friendly and polite. Didn’t catch his name, but our server with the mullet was brilliant!

This restaurant was fantastic. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. I ordered the fish and chips, and the portion sizes were generous enough that I was able to take some home with me. Réservez une table maintenant

Went here for a birthday meal after being at the theatre. Food was nice but I felt it was overpriced for what it was and the alcoholic drink prices extortionate. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Fish was cooked perfectly and the portion is insane value for money. We were sat in a little beach hut too! Brilliant selection of cocktails, we will be back
