After a wonderful single track mountain drive we came to the village of Diabaig on Loch Torridon. We had a hot drink and a flapjack that was so yummy, it (and Amanda the co-owner/head chef) inspired us to book a table for dinner the following...evening. Amazing location, friendly and interesting people, lovely menu showcasing Scottish produce and just a charming and unpretentious meal experience. I liked it, kids liked it and we left needing to know Aart's flapjack and sticky toffee pudding recipes.
This amazing restaurant serves delicious real food and is operated by very friendly people. It is situated in a stunning yet slightly secluded area. The food is fantastic, sourced locally, and served without any unnecessary deconstructions. Due to its small size, reservations are necessary. If you are able to find accommodations nearby, it is highly recommended to extend your visit and enjoy a walk through the woods up to Upper Diabaig. This experience will truly enhance your holiday.
Don't be fooled by the location, you will need to book. The food was excellent and the hosts were generous, fun and lovely, a great experience. The road to the village from Torridon offers amazing views in both directions and is worth the journey on...it's own, but take the opportunity to experience this great restaurant in the most stunning location. However don't expect a mobile signal, EE certainly didn't have one.
Excellent scallops and sumptuous main courses of monkfish and venison, perfectly cooked. Really, really good food in a stunning setting, with a great ethos. Review would have been a 5 star for sure, had we not overheard the chef mocking my (wrongly presumed) English accent...and turn of phrase....which had actually been a very complimentary comment. Shame, spoilt my evening somewhat but still worth the trip. Réservez une table maintenant
We had another amazing meal at The Gille Brighde. It's a fantastic little restaurant. The drive to Diabaig is stunning. The menu offers so many delicious options to choose from. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food presentation and serving sizes are excellent. We can't think of anything to fault and can't wait to come back. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful dining experience.
We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant today. The soup of the day was a delicious homemade sweet soup, followed by a seafood platter and linguine with crab, all made in-house. To top it off, we enjoyed a cheeseboard, chocolate cake, and coffee. The service was excellent and the cozy atmosphere with a crackling log fire in the background made for an unforgettable afternoon.
this restaurant is really out of the beaten away! after a picturesque hairpin bend, 10 miles road they are rewarded with this amazing restaurant. eating is very high quality and extremely tasty! we sat outside and the lookout is spectacular! that is really a...lover place to lunch. make sure they book, it is very popular and it is easy to see why!
asse series of eating and friendly service. had a day in the hills and this place hit the place to dinner. the venison was superb the sticky toffee pudding to follow all delicious. I would have tried the seafood if I were not so hungry. excellent coffee. to plan to drive back. Réservez une table maintenant
This really is a find, superb local ingredients beautifully cooked in a wonderful location. Sunday lunch is a real bargain. Aart is a charming mein host with amazing t shirts. We have been coming here since 2017 two or three times a week in our...regular stays in the area.
