This is without doubt one of the best attractions is Wester Ross. The welcome is warm and genuine. We visited at various times during our two week stay in the area. A big thank you to all the volunteers who each time went out of...their way to take time to talk to the visitors. The lady originally from Ayr and Jane from New Zealand were very informative about the background to this community venue, which aims to offer a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The baking is outstanding, especially the coffee cake, lemon drizzle cake and victoria sponge. in additions the coffee is ground coffee served in a cafetiere. This I believe encourages visitors to ensure that the donation reflect...
The tea room is a former local school that no longer has enough pupils to keep it open. It has been bought by a community based group to promote and sustain the local community. My wife and i called in for afternoon tea on August and received a warm, friendly and genuine welcome. To say that we enjoyed the experience would be an understatement. The cafe is open for afternoon teas on Wednesday and Friday from pm till pm. Go there you won't be disappointed.
We remember when this was a school and it’s great to see that the building is being used and not just allowed to decay. A lot of effort has gone into the displays and information in the rooms leading to the tea room. The tea...room is almost a little memory of the past with ladies in their pinnies and a display of home made cakes to die for. A lovely stop off on the road from Poolewe to Cove. Great hot cup of tea with tea pot and a slice of yummy cake.
We stopped by for takeaway teas and cakes and the cakes were delicious. The two ladies serving were very friendly and cheery and were happy to chat for a while. It's a shame it's not open a bit more often we'd definitely have gone...more during our week holiday if it was open more. Réservez une table maintenant
Open on Wednesday and Friday afternoons during the tourist season this cafe serves a selection of home made cakes and pastries. The very friendly volunteers who run the cafe are delighted to answer questions about the local area. There is a very interesting local history...display.
A great place to enjoy afternoon tea.The homemade cakes are a delight just amazing served on beautiful china. The volunteers were lovely friendly ladies.Very interesting historical displays, and local crafts on sale. We shall be returning with friends. Well worth a visit.
We drove up to the magnificent Firemore beach to walk the dog and then drove back down the road to the old Inverasdale school now run by volunteers with a cafe on Weds and Friday afternoon for some lovely tea and cake and interesting displays/...history and good company.
