This is hands down the best restaurant in Pensacola I've ever visited, and possibly the best I've ever been to! I finally got to try the lamb lollipops, which were seasoned to perfection. The Israeli couscous was absolutely incredible (apologies for the photo—we dug in before I remembered to take one). For my entree, I had the pesto tuna, which was cooked to perfection. The pesto was easily among the best I've ever tasted, and the creamy tomato sauce was divine. I also had polenta for the first time, and it exceeded my expectations. My husband ordered the NY strip, and it was worth every penny (just ignore the lamb lollipop bone in the picture—I told you the food was that good!). The service...
The food was amazing, but it seems that good service is too much to expect these days. I'm pretty laid-back and have worked in the hospitality industry, so I know how things should ideally run. I understand that there are staff shortages, but when the server said, "I'll just bring you whatever, whenever," it was quite surprising—and that's exactly what happened. One person finished their meal before the third person even got their food, and everyone had finished eating by the time the fourth person received their tapas special. Fortunately, we had good company, which made our visit enjoyable. This is a high-end restaurant, and I highly recommend the food.
Our server, Paige, was exceptional—attentive and quick whenever we needed something. She thoroughly explained the menu items that we were curious about and was swift with our drink orders from the bar. I had been craving steak and was excited to find that the special for the evening was a 12oz center-cut wagyu ribeye cooked medium rare, served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and accompanied by steamed veggies. It was a hearty portion, more than enough for two adults! Overall, it was a wonderful first-time experience, and I will certainly return for future special occasions. Plus, the downtown area is beautiful for a stroll after dinner!
Global Grill was an incredible experience. The wine selection was fantastic, the appetizers were delightful, and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend the lobster wontons, tempura-fried asparagus, and the steaks. Our server was very knowledgeable and had years of experience at the restaurant, which helped him guide us in our choices and suggest perfect pairings. I can’t wait to come back soon!
