We are on holiday on foot, this Chinese restaurant was recommended to us by local friends. On the website it states it’s open until 10.00pm. Regardless we rang through to check the Chinese gentleman stated they shut the kitchen at 8.30pm to...arrive before then. We arrived at 8.10pm was told by the Chinese lady that the kitchen was closed they were no longer serving. Very disappointing as we had walked a fair distance to eat there. Hope the food is better than the service, Good luck!!
this is the second visit of the golden boat and not disappointed by the service and quality of food. the restaurant is clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. eating is excellent and I would recommend to each of the dishes. the Golden...Boat has the best tasty dishes that I have experienced. I would recommend the golden boat for a comfortable and pleasant night and excellent eating.
Disappointing, had some dishes including a combination short soup only to find half way through that the large partly cut chicken peices were not cooked thru. I did mention it to them and they gave me 20% off. Not the kindest gesture. Don't think I...will return.

All of our group were very happy with our meals. Classic style Chinese restaurant food and surroundings. Delicious duck meals particularly and a good range of dumplings. The price was reasonable and the dish sizes were good. No complaints at all.
We were surprised to find that the Chinese food at this restaurant was more westernized. The daughter ordered stir-fried seasonal vegetables and although it was different from what she was used to in the US, she enjoyed it with her white rice.
Unfortunately we found the owner rude, he told us when we ran in the restaurant was full of we said we had a book so that we were allowed in! service was slow and dimi sim over cooked satay bark meat not so delicious
