I can’t say I’ve tried every Chinese in the country but it’s usually salt and pepper (i.e chilli) chicken or squid or something.. Golden Palace do something different. And wow, is it good. You can have a milder dish if you don’t eat the chillies, if you like spice like I do then eating these chillies will see you right usually at least birds eye temperature, absolutely fantastic. And the duck is so tasty, it’s breaded and it’s soft and moreish, not like a hard batter. I order 2 3 of these and nothing else every time.. as why order something that can’t be beaten? Golden Palace thank you again you total hidden gem.
They could not deliver because they were too busy fair enough on a Satuday evening. But when I went to pick up my order an hour later, they refused to give me it, even though payment had been completed on the phone, because they had spelt my name wrong on the order? My daughter had paid on her card, but they still would not give me the takeaway. A waste of food a waste of time. Now batling for a refund. Let them deliver, do not pick up. Or dont bother at all.
A few days ago we had some unexpected guests arrive and decided to have a Chinese meal delivered to the house. I ordered by telephone and within 40 minutes the meal arrived. The quantity and quality of the food was excellent at a price that I consider was good value for money. A week on and our guests are still talking about the food. I do not believe you can get a better recommendation than that!!
One star review for a nice prawn pepper and salt. Had prawn red Thai, honey chicken, and prawn satay. The sauce in each dish was the same clear looking glupe but in a different colour and very bland tasting. Prawn balls and egg rice was as expected, Thai rice was not good. Must remember to never order a delivery from here again. Was not worth the money at all.

Food full of flavour, large portions and arrives hot! Compared to other Chinese takeaways, this one is so much better. Price I would say I’d average and by the taste of the food it’s very fresh. Reasonable delivery time and friendly staff.
Had a wonderful takeaway from here on a Saturday night, ordered and paid for on line and it was ready for us to collect at the time we specified. All the dishes were very good and plentiful, piping hot and very tasty! Highly recommend!
Waited an hour, one of the main dishes was missing (only 5 items ordered) a couple of the dishes were really watery with not much flavour and waited for final item to be delivered 25 minutes later, whilst only 1 minute away.
Delivery was terrible waited in excess of 2 hours No apology upon delivery Food barely warm considering only 4 miles from takeaway £3 off next order as good will gesture (unlikely there will be one)

Whenever we order take out we order from here never had a bad meal, food is always hot and nice to eat. Service is good and rarely late. Good value for money also.
