The food is excellent, and I have always liked the venue (big windows with lots of natural light). However, their use of disposable plastic cutlery (and disposable dishes) detracts from the otherwise classy vibe and is not sustainable.This restaurant seems like it should care about its footprint but when I asked the server about the plastic silverware, I was told real silverware costs too much . This makes no sense to me. How can a one-time purchase of cheap metal silverware (e.g., could even purchase from a local secondhand store) cost more than single-use disposables? I would think the reusable silverware would quickly pay for itself. Please rethink this and make an effort to think about the planet. I want to be able to recommend this restaurant to everybody, but I can 't currently.
I ordered a burger with bacon jam, fries, wings, and drinks to go. ALL the food was packaged beautifully and the food was hot and fresh. The space itself is clean and the service is impeccable. I appreciate the fact that the owners provide biodegradable to go containers and cutlery. Above all, this is the best food I have had in the city! I can see the owners take pride in the work they do because it shows in every aspect of good plates eatery.
Very seldom am I overwhelmed by any place, but Good Plates has consistently surprised me. The food is always hot and delicious, whether I'm eating in or ordering for the office. The staff is super helpful and pleasant, and today the cook went above and beyond to make my visit special. I'll continue to come here and I hope they're in business for many years to come.
