The staff are friendly but that's the only good point. The coffee is average and the food is not so good. The big breakfast is full of cheap sausage, soggy spinach and average "homebrand" tasting bacon.No sourdough toast available, crossed out by hand on the old discoloured menu.The place needs a good clean, it is cluttered with dusty memorabilia and hand written signs and labels. Needs a good scrub and paint job and new kitchen/counter. You can spend the same dollars at the nearby "Food Republic" where its sparking clean, modern and fresh and has excellent reviews.Won't eat there again.
Nestled in the leafy suburbs of Blackburn, right behind Laburnum Station, this is a lovely little hidden away cafe.Open at very reasonable hours (as a customer) the very friendly and quick service make this a stand out versus many of the cafe's we've visited in the Melbourne suburbs.Whether it's Tapas and a glass of wine or cakes and coffee, our late afternoon Saturday tea was enjoyed by all of us.Definitely worth getting to if you're in the area.
A lovely suburban cafe with a good menu. All day breakfasts. 8.30 - 3.30. full cooked breakfasts as well as hot cakes and a great range of other menu items. Lovely selection of very fresh looking cakes and slices at the counter. The service is friendly and quick but unobtrusive. There are outdoor tables with umbrellas. the cafe is also licensed with a good selection of reasonably priced wine.
I had coffee this morning with my wife. she enjoyed the latte and for me, the long black. We shared one French toast with mixed berries, cream (I think it is cream) with maple syrup and a bit of icing sugar on the plate to go with the French toast which was well prepared. Overall, it is a nice cafe with friendly staff.

Located in a pretty area near Laburnum a friend and I decided to revisit this small cafe that also has good heated outside seating. Coffee was very good as were both of our lunch meals. Worth the visit.
A group of us go out for breakfast every Thursday morning, and we decided to try Gourmet Girl. We ate outside because it was a beautiful morning. Food was great, but service could be improved.
I got a recommendation from my friend Catherine at Papaya PR to check these guys out when I was in town and glad I did. Food was delicious and the service was top-notch! Highly recommended
Quaint cafe in Laburnum. Wonderful selection of food both cooked and cafe cake style. Great service and I love the fact you can eat indoors or outside. Coffee not strong enough.

Great for a lunch break, and coffee is good. Range of choices in lighter lunches and full meals. Also has tapas on Friday and Saturday nights - have not tried this yet
Busy busy place. We did not have a booking and were lucky to get a spot for the 4 of us. Food was delicious and smiles gr8. Reasonable prices too. Will be back again.
