Been here many times of an evening with family and Friday lunch times with friends. Peter, the owner/cook always pleasant and offers suggestions if you tell him the type of food you like. Staff are always on the ball and they are knowledgeable about the menu, again, offering suggestions which is useful if there are several diners. I find Grand View one of the better Chinese restaurants in Sydney with a high level of food quality, generous portions, interesting variations to the norm and very good value. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner with the added bonus of being BYO.
Have been here many times over many years as we live in the area. Has picked up dramatically since new owner (Peter) has taken over and food is now excellent (possibly some of the best in Sydney) & always very fresh as prepared only on the day. Staff are very good & while a little pricey, the consistent quality & taste is really well worth it. Worth a first try & no doubt will rerun many times. A real mainstay in the area now. Beware, VERY busy on Mothers & Fathers Days. Back there tom, & looking forward to another great meal.
With a view out over the water, this restaurant provides a great dining experience. Obviously try and get a table near the window. Wide range of options on the menu and gluten free is available. Food came quite quickly but admittedly the restaurant was nearly empty.The portions were generous and the food was delicious. If you order fried rice you will probably only need one serving for two people. Lunch was lovely.
Caught up with a friend living near this restaurant for a group dinner for her birthday. Food was excellent. We asked staff for their advice re selecting food for a group of 8. The dishes were an excellent combination and the quantities spot on. As it is BYO I was able to bring vintage champagne and a great bottle of wine to share. While not close to where I live I would certainly go back.

My friend and I ordered the $10 takeout option at this restaurant, which usually takes a maximum of 20 minutes. However, after waiting for 40 minutes, I was informed that they had run out of beef. Customers who had placed similar orders 20 minutes after me received their meals before I did. In total, I waited one and a half hours for my meal.
We've been here several times and really like it. The food is your bog standard local Chinese fare. The staff are friendly and the restaurant has s great outlook over gladesville bridge. It's not particularly cheap, but where is in hunters hill?We will continue to frequent this restaurant for as long as we live in the area.
The WORST dining experience Rude staff, cold entrees, they "ran out" of chicken on Sat night, entrees took half an hour to come out. We left after entree and cancelled main. Then had be audacity to charge us after we complained
Had a fantastic experience with a group of 10 students + 2 staff.. Approx $25 per head ordered 8-9 mains, boiled and fried rice.. Struggled to finish.. Food was fantastic.. Great service!! Will be back for sure..

Good quality Chinese cuisine, with upmarket prices. Licensed but wine is not cheap; corkage high. Staff pleasant depending on the night. Handy to bust stops and undercover parking.
The food is delicious, but a bit expensive. The service is average. I would recommend going for lunch specials rather than dinner.
