We were not greeted on arrival and waited for someone to confirm our booking. our antipasto platter had ONE slice of mortadella on it no prosciutto, very mild, greasy salami and grissini sticks that were almost stale. My main course was four tiny scallops with a bit of tired grennery in the middle of the plate no garnish, nothing. My husband has six prawns, again with no garnish, for his main course. After we had ordered our dessert we heard the waiter telling the couple at the next table that the dessert special was tiramasiu but we were not told. We were obviously of the wrong ethnic background not Italian. Witers were almost fawning over the Italian family next to us and when we complaine...
Beautiful dining experience again at Ecco. Attentive staff and delicious Italian food. Classic dishes and then some really interesting twists in their specials. Ideal for vegetarians too as they will alter dishes to suit. Despite the large size of the restaurant the acoustics are well designed so you don't have to listen to anyone else's conversation and can enjoy your own. Cocktail and wine menu is impressive. Great spot for an occasion or a meal for two.
I had my daughters bridal shower at Ecco recently and I cannot recommend this venue enough for a function. From the food, the views and the service we couldn’t fault a single thing. The management are very accomodating and go out of their way to make the event extra special and all our guests raved on about the food. We will definitely be back here!
Was there for a function. Wait staff were very attentive, making sure my young teen always had plenty of food. Food was great. Only negative thing would be if you have a function with an open bar, make sure to give your guests wristbands, to ensure opportunists from another function don't take advantage.

Great dining experience. Good food, great view and perfect service. Great place to go if you are craving for fresh, high quality seafood dishes. They also have a good wine menu to go with your dinner. Very good choice if you are on around Birkenhead point.
If gnocchi is your thing...call ahead to make sure they have it. If not, you'll have to live with the best crepes in the southern hemisphere. The view is amazing, too!
