My husband and I love their gyros platter. Huge portions. I asked for their yummy lemon potatoes instead of fries and they gave it to me. Been here 3 times since moving back to Long Island from Maryland. My husband never tasted awesome gyros like GreekIsland. We like it here, I was reading some reviews, the owners are hard working men, they do everything, I mean cut them abreak. We usually get them to smile but I get it, their tired, hot, and running all over. I got them some slack. I do agreethough that instead of news on TV play some Greek music. Change the atmosphere to more upbeat. My only criticism but not acomplaint because we love the food here.
I called to inquire about the gyro platter and was informed it included meat, rice, pita, and two sides. I placed an order for delivery and was told it would take around an hour. Unfortunately, it ended up taking over an hour and a half! When my order arrived, there was no rice, and the two Greek salads were combined in one container. Some of the meat was charred and unappetizing. The portion size was disappointing, and once again, there was no rice! When I called to discuss this issue, the staff member insisted that the platter didn’t come with rice. I was not impressed and will not be ordering from them again!
I have a deep appreciation for Greek cuisine and have traveled to Greece multiple times. I frequently indulge in it when I'm in Bayside, Queens, especially as my best friend is Greek. However, my recent visit was disappointing. I ordered moussaka and spanakopita for an appetizer, while my wife opted for stuffed eggplant. Unfortunately, both dishes seemed to be made with frozen spinach, which I found quite unappetizing—arguably the worst Greek food I've ever encountered. My child also ordered a kids' pizza, and he didn't like it either.
I was expecting Greek Food from the name of the place but the food and prices are similar to another diner located a block away. I went here on a Monday night around 8 pm and there were plenty of empty tables. The service was ok, two men were serving and doing everything else without a smile is possibly one negative about the place. I Would go here again when I am in a mood for Diner food especially because the other diner in the neighborhood is usually crowded at times.The restaurant table area and the bathrooms were clean.

On August 6, 2022, I had an unfortunate experience at Greek Islands. The person at the register, a pale blonde girl, was quite unfriendly. It would be beneficial for management to consider hiring someone with a more customer-friendly demeanor. Sadly, we have decided not to come back, and we will be recommending that our family and friends do the same.
I love greek food ive been to Greece, i order it when i go Bayside queens all the time, my best friends greek also.
