"Top class. Wanted to visit for quite a while now. A very cosy back street mews pub. Nice pint of Timothy Taylor's. Well kept. A few ghostly tales from the barman and nearby is a film location for the final scene of the 1951 film Scrooge. Food looked good as well."

Not as warm table service as I recall in the past here, but unchanging 19th century decor. There’s a constant flow of tourists who want to see Wellingtons old officer mess, so this is a franchise. We’ve been coming for decades. Mostly for a couple of pints in a weekend afternoon or when heading out for a restaurant meal. Tonight we tried the meal service. It was meant to be a special evening for a 90 year family member who was excited to be visiting us in London. Despite there being three empty tables that would have been fine, we were crammed into a small table that was right next to the crowded bar. The waitress said she was saving the three tables for larger parties, so we dutifully agree...

While the staff may not be thrilled to have more tourists visit, this place is a well-kept secret that visitors will only discover by accident or with the help of a local—which is how we learned of it. Only went for drinks so no food pictures this time but the tea and beer were excellent. The memorabilia and history throughout this small pub are also amazing and worth a visit—even if it’s to grab a quick drink then nip off back to work. It’s a little out-of-the-way but getting some extra steps in won’t hurt—especially since you’ll likely be getting something alcoholic or deep-fried during your visit. Beautiful location with matching interior and a clean but outdated lavatory, this is a great...

Always wanted to visit a true pub with fish and chips. This place is a historic pub where soldiers gathered. Lost of history and even a haunted tale in the fireplace room. The beers were great but the food was wonderful. True fish and chips with mushy peas. I had tomato soup which was hearty and warming on a cold rainy day. The dessert was a toffee pudding with a caramel sauce. We got it to go and should have gotten a second one for breakfast. We were made welcome and will definitely go back.

Great to be back after a years absence. I never tire of this place. A real hidden gem in London that you need someone to tell you about to find, as there is no chance you're going to be accidentally walking past this pub. In fact it's so good I'm not even going to divulge where it is as we don't want more people finding it! Do we? If you've found this review and can find the place then you deserve to be here. Cheers! A great little hidden gem of a pub steeped in history dating as far back as the 1700s if not further, small in size but makes up for it in a good selection of food and drink with friendly staff. A spooky storie resides in the pub of a soldier that cheated at cards and owed lots of money in debt, as you look up at the ceiling filled with notes and messages from across the world to help pay his debt to move on.

Beautiful, small mews pub, steeped in history. Apparently a former Army Officers’ Mess. Came here to avoid the crowds at the weekend of our late Queen’s funeral. Off the beaten track, so definitely more of a locals’ pub than a tourists’ pub. Lovely zinc bar and a good choice of cask and keg. Enjoyed a couple of pints of well-kept Landlord. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

One of the best secret pubs in London. We stumbled upon it on the way back to our hotel, and had dinner there. Great vibe locals and students frequent it, and you can't blame them the place is fantastic from the food to the service to the decor. Ceiling is covered with paper money. It almost make you feel like you go back in time. A wonderful experience.

Very nice pub with pretty good food and a lovely atmosphere. The pub is really nice, has a traditional feeling to it as it is quite small and feels authentic. Nice staff and good drinks. Food is pretty good, burger a bit dry and the beef wellington, at £32 probably isn’t worth it, but pork and chicken roast were good. Recommended for a nice drink Réservez une table maintenant

I returned for the first time in over 10 years and it was as excellent as I remember. A great choice of beer, wine and spirits and really friendly staff in a quiet Belgravia mews location. A really friendly crowd of local workers and residents gave it a great vibe. It's definitely worth a visit and definitely worth a return.
