This is my first time trying this restaurant, and I'm certain it will be my last as well. We arrived around 5 PM on a weekday, and it wasn't busy at all. We ordered a dinner set for four, which cost only $58.97 and included five dishes, soup, and dessert at the end. The quality of the food is acceptable considering what you get for the price you pay.However, the main issue I observed was with the service. Essentially, there was no service beyond dropping the dishes on your table. Hai Tang is a great neighborhood restaurant where you can enjoy delicious Hong Kong-style meals at an affordable price. We ordered the $58 lobster meal, which included half a chicken, sweet and sour pork, veggies with beef, soup, and dessert. The portion sizes were generous and the value for the price was excellent. We have visited many times for their Hong Kong-style breakfast and afternoon tea, which are also delicious.
From the outside, the restaurant looked to take up a large corner of the strip mall. Walking in however, the space was actually narrow and quite tight. There were two dining areas and both were packed. At one point, a woman walked in and asked to seat 17 people, the waitress gave a pretty big sigh and an estimated wait time of at least an hour. The restaurant decor was a little worn but the space was clean and tidy.
A certain top 3 out of all the restaurants i’ve been to. Everything i tried was prepared fresh and hot. Staff feels like family. Food was okay but value for the food was good. Gui Lin style vermicelli was good (forgot to take a photo). The pork (like sweet and sour type in the photo) was also nice and tender. I would not recommend the short ribs. It was so hard to chew! There were alot to choose from and we didn't know what to order. I would come back again to try other dishes.
I frequented this restaurant for its delicious food, wide selection, and consistently fast service. Expect a line during peak dining hours. The milk tea is a standout, and the prices are fair. Parking is convenient, with accessible entrances and curb ramps.
This is my go-to place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their pricing is better than most when compared to others serving similar types of food. Food is tasty. I have enjoyed eating here for the past 5 years.
This restaurant is a typical Hong Kong Style establishment. The quality of the food was decent for the price. The service was average and the waiting area was cramped.
