Disappointed booked table weeks ahead of Christmas Eve for daughter and husband and myself .Received several phone calls to change booking times . Arrived on time and sat at a bare table for four .Just menu and sauces and cutlery . My daughter asked why were other tables, had table dressed, wine glass with serviettes and crackers and table cloths . Christmas experience. Are experience was not special for Christmas Eve , was no treated as other diners were given that extra special experience . Disappointed and my daughter was upset that we were parked in corner and she suggested we got up and go .......
We have visited this restaurant numerous times, but during our latest visit, the dishes were disappointingly bland. I'm not sure if it was because it was a Sunday evening and they had been busy serving roasts all day, which may have affected the quality of our usual meals, but nothing was particularly enjoyable this time. On a positive note, the staff were fantastic as always, and the drinks and atmosphere were delightful.
We had a lovely dinner in the evening, enjoying generous portions of beautifully cooked food with magnificent aromas. The menu features a great selection of typical gastropub dishes in a cozy restaurant area. The bar is also beautiful, offering a good selection of beer and wine. The atmosphere is fantastic, making it a consistent favorite for us!
Disappointed that at 7.50 on a saturday evening they had only portion of crumble available, no Trifle, no cheese board. The online menu price for Rump Steak is £13.79, we were charged £16.50 the dips/sauce listed as £1.79 but charged £2.00. Could not recommend venue if they charge what they feel like on the day.

The food was decent overall, but the décor was quite gloomy. The seating was very uncomfortable and hard. During my visit, there was an exceptionally noisy party, making it really difficult to have a conversation. However, the staff were friendly and attentive.
Lovely dinner, generous portions, fabulous food beautifully cooked with wonderful flavours. Good range of typical gastropub food in a restaurant setting. Lovely bar too with good range of beers and wines. Great ambience. Always a favourite
Excellent surroundings. Busy. Staff didn't badger you but checked on you the right amount. Could do with a little more light as it was difficult to read the menu and card machine! Great birthday dinner. Thank you.
The food and service were quite good, and the staff was friendly. However, the restaurant felt a bit dim; it could have used more lighting at the table.

Lovely meal , veg a little over cooked , staff helpful and friendly , will come back .
Good food though menu has been reduced. My onlh gripe was that we felt old!
