we were back in bamberg and on Sunday at Café michaelsberg. soup cream soup, rehragout from!heimischer jagd! with monasteries and red herb, st. pierre in sesame coat with rice, freshly roasted bevelled with crumbs - each with inlay salad. apfelstrudel and Bavarian cream as dessert. the food was handmade, without flavor enhancers, fresh, on the point and very excellent. the portions completely sufficient! the service tipopp - even those who please, my two commands, to halve the fish and the two-belt meat each and that one as an appetizer, the other as main feed was met without discussion. I stay with my first one-shoulding - you have to look for a long time in bamberg to eat so well and also...
We almost decided not to go to Michaelsberg (St. Michael 's), because the church is closed during renovations. However, we read that the gardens were beautiful, so that we made the ascent and were rewarded with one of the best views in Bamberg (better than the rose garden in the New Residence). We stayed at Cafe Restaurant Michaelsberg for lunch in the garden and were very satisfied. While the service can be a bit slow, our waitress was very friendly and we enjoyed the mushrooms in the cream sauce and the cheese sparrow. We also tried the local smokey beer that I am sure is an acquired taste (not mine). All in all a very nice place for lunch or coffee and cake on a summer afternoon.
The waiters are not friendly. The food is very mediocre, in fact one of the worst restaurants (in terms of food taste) for Frankonian dishes in Bamberg. In addition, much more expensive than the traditional restaurants in the turistic city... center. I went to lunch with a friend and we regret it. The only positive thing about this restaurant is the location in the monastery of St. Michael.
Wir durften unsere Hochzeit an diesem einzigartigen Ort in Bamberg feiern. Die Aussicht über die Stadt ist einfach grandios. Zudem war die ganze Organisation der Feier komplikationslos. Die Chefin Tanja hat uns mit ihrem Team einen perfekten Tag bereitet. Ambiente, Essen, Getränke, Stimmung, einfach alles war super:

Meine Beschreibung wäre/ist nicht Lady like, einfach geil. Phänomenalen Personal, locker mit Witz und Humor. Bei Fragen von Touristen immer hilfsbereit und leckere Empfehlungen und Preise sind für einen kleinen Geldbeutel geeignet. Lecker essen und trinken kannst du hier.
Essen war in Ordnung, Preise ebenso. Aussicht über Bamberg sehr schön. Bedienung war eher chaotisch und überfordert an dem Tag. Da es einer der ersten wirklich schönen Tage des Sommers war, kann das auch eine Ausnahme gewesen sein.
we sat in the garden of the restaurant and enjoyed coffee and cake with great views of the roofs of bamberg and the surrounding landscape. back to the city you should go on the benediktinerweg (below the terrace).
Hier gibt es tolles Essen, ein sehr nettes Team und eine wunderbare Aussicht!
