When visiting an older Korean restaurant or pub in Chicago (not sure why it seems specific to this city, but it does), you should brace yourself for less-than-stellar service. The older women who work there often have a bit of an attitude. That said, the woman here isn't as rude as those at some other Korean places I've been to; she still makes you feel a bit unwelcome and bothersome, but I've had worse experiences. This place is literally the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. It feels like a second home to me. I’ve been coming here for almost 7 years. My now husband has been coming for 4. It is hands down our favorite place. Not only is the food THE ABSOLUTE BEST, but the service, the environment, EVERYTHING is top tier. The staff here (including the beautiful owner), is nothing short of INCREDIBLE. They are so helpful, so sweet, and so on top of everything. I am truly in love with Hanshin Pocha. The food was outstanding! I can see why the place attracts a crowd, and while the music might not be to everyone's taste, we had a great time with it. I tried the Fried Dumplings, Bossam, Bulgogi, and Chicken Wings, and everything was served hot and fresh. You can truly tell that a lot of care and effort goes into their cooking. The staff was attentive and friendly as well. It's a perfect spot for enjoying some spicy dishes alongside cold beer and soju.

I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. It's funny that we both decided to order the rice with egg and kimchi rice. Both the kimchi fried rice and the kimchi pancake were fantastic. The pancake was perfectly soft, crispy, tangy, and spicy, while the rice had a nice smoky flavor. The Sapporo beer was also poured to perfection. I can't wait to come back to try more dishes and sample more of the fish cake!
We enjoyed the sliced brisket, which we cooked right at our table. The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. They also offered a selection of alcoholic beverages. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. K-pop music videos were playing on the TVs, adding to the lively atmosphere.

Only heads up would be they tag team service (good) and have a convenient call button (also good) BUT if you don't know about or notice the button you could be left for a very long time. I visited this restaurant for the first time and it certainly won't be my last visit. The food was delicious, and the service exceeded my expectations. The side dishes were equally impressive. I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu!
