This is one of those local places that unless you know about it you would drive by without notice. In a strip mall of Dollard avenue in Lasalle it reminds me of one of those Diners Drive-in and Dive places you see on TV (by no means a dive by the way). The place is not much to see from the outside. On the inside, very clean with several tables for 4 that are set on a platform with sliding privacy doors. The rest of the tables are your regular fair. Where the decor may not win many accolades, the food is fantastic, prices are very reasonable and the service is first rate.... oh... and its BYOW !We were a group of 11 all ordering a la carte. Service was very fast, and I was pleasantly surprise...

First time to this restaurant with some friends. From outside it does not look appealing, however inside its descent. Its bring your own wine. I had the general tao chicken. For $13.95 you get wong tong soup which was perfect. Then you get a spring roll which was so nice and crisp and of course the main plate of general tao chicken which the portion was very generous. Put it this way, I took leftovers home. Instead of the plain white rice, I took the chicken fried rice for an extra $2.00 . So worth it! Did I mention that we had the peanut butter dumplings as an entree? They were great!Just wish the staff would speak/understand english or french. Lol

Although I am not a big fan of Chinese food, my family LOVE it. I go along, but don't typically like the food. At Harmonie Orientale, however, there are several items that I do enjoy. On different occasions when we have been there, we have witnessed the staff making the spring rolls from scratch, too. If they use MSG, it is not in large quantities as I am prone to migraines when I have it, but have never had one after eating here. The staff are polite, present, but not overbearing. Overall, I find it a pleasant and satisfying meal.

If you crave that 1970's Chinatown nostaligic-tasting food, where everything's made fresh and so awesomely tasty, then don't go to Chinatown! LaSalle has a hidden gem called Harmonie Orientale. It formerly went by then name "Maison Yu" and has since then expanded and looks more upscale. But don't let the new digs fool you! The service and food is still the same old-fashioned Chinese cuisine that originally made North Americans fall in love with Chinese cooking.

An afternoon lunch and a new restaurant. Opens at 11:30 am and we were the first ones in. Pleasant staff and they took our orders promptly. Sweet and sour soup was terrific and the General Tao was one of the best I have had.The restaurant is bigger than you would expect with lots of traditional seating but about 6 private booths that resemble rooms. Excellent atmosphere and very good food. I would recommend for a 'not too rush' afternoon lunch.

I guess everyone already knows about this place because it was buzzing! The custard and curried beef buns were amazing. Lots of hotdog version and I wasn't a fan of those much. My least favourite was the pork buns but I guess thats a personal thing. Give it a go. We went back late on another occasion and they were sold out, so dont go to late. They only take cash or debit (i dont do debit in stores..just my thing...so go prepared)

My second visit to this great restaurant. Everything I tried is perfect. For lunch at $10.95 you get soup, spring roll and your main meal. The wong tong soup is amazing. The spring roll is so perfect and my main meal was pad tai which was awesome. I also tried my friends meal the sesame beef which again was great. Seriously this place has good, fresh food. I cant wait to go again.

Tired after a long week, we decided to eat out. New to the neighborhood, we tried this place after reading the reviews on Trip Adviser. Located in a nondescript strip mall, we didn't know what to expect. This restaurant did not disappoint. The food was good, the place clean and excellent value for the money. What else is could we ask? Will return.
