Out with a group of 4 girls recently for a birthday celebration on a Thursday night. The chefs here are clearly professional . Stand out dishes were rice paper rolls , green papaya salad and slow cooked beef. Despite enjoying the mod Viet food our evening was completely ruined by the rude and abrasive staff member who waited on our table. The service was cold , unfriendly and abrupt. Meals were delivered with disinterest and disdainWe were seated in the back room and to our horror the chairs went up around us and bright lights turned on at 9.15 precisely!!! A night out celebrating a birthday with a group of friends. Typhoon has become a local favourite with little in the way of competition. Unfortunately there lies the problem. Over priced drinks (almost $50 for a cheap bottle of sparkling wine). And very ordinary cuisine. Service was rushed to get us out.Our group were put upstairs in a rather dirty cramped setting with no music and zero atmosphere. We almost had to resort to Spotify for some background music. Let's hope for some other local venues to show them how it should be done !

5 of us dined here as "newbies".. easy location, free parking, exceptional service and delicious food. We chose not to share, had a small plate and a salad/ curry each and were more than sated. Would love to return and share a few dishes.

Tried it not long after opening. The Hawker brand is well known in Bayside. Small portions of ordinary food at premium prices. Nothing else remarkable.

Beautiful food and great bar. Typhoon provides a fantastic casual dining experience. Food is beautiful and great value. Thoroughly recommended
