Quaint Cafe, Friendly Service. So upon looking for something to eat after a cancelled class I thought I would head down Broadway and see what it had to offer other than the appalling Chilliz. After meandering down the street my friend and I stumbled across Heather’s Hutch. It looked really quaint and the piano and hard wooden floors drew us inside (Music students, mate). Surprisingly, there were no students at all. Nada. Seemed to attract quite a few old people though but that really didn’t bother me. Hmmmm... no. Sadly a little place that time forgot. I was last here about 20 years ago, the type of food they serve reminds me very much of that era. We didn't enjoy either of our dishes, mains that were priced to match other restaurants nearby but quality of food, presentation and speed of service were very poor. I'm bewildered as to how they stay in business with so few customers and quite a lot of food on display. I would truly like to say something positive... oh I know it's nice and quiet so you can have a decent conversation and the waitress was pleasant.
Lovely greeting when I arrived and then no one was visible till my order finally arrived. The food is a bit like the decor dated, many food items even wrapped in plastic in the display. Two customers at midday. Hmmm This cafe used to be packed when Heather Hutchinson, the original owner, ran it years ago. My take away pumpkin soup was delicious, and the chicken and avocado sandwich was fresh but had an overpowering salty dressing and no avocado. Given its location near the river and UWA, the cafe should be packed.
Quaint, homely feels. Pretty standard menu with decent prices (especially for Nedlands)! Staff were chatty and friendly, we sat outside in the breeze. Wasn't too hungry so went for a simple toastie. Fresh ingredients, tasty. My friends Vege Brekkie looked pretty nice, nothing out of the ordinary. Coffee was strong and tasty. Réservez une table maintenant
morning at 10 o'clock to the breakfast, friendly greeting. we were about an hour there and no other customers apart from a walk for Takeaway coffee. we waited for our meal to arrive, which was not something strange with any other customer. a good amount but my eggs were cold. decor is fantastic, but not impressed overall.
