Went here after reading the great reviews and we were all super disappointed.I had the fish tacos that were lettuce tacos. If there was 1 oz of fish I would be surprised. They were lettuce and 2 soggy corn tortillas We ordered the girls Mexican pizza off the kids menu which was a very small corn tortilla with a small am out of cheese and 2 small shrimp. The 6 year old said it was hard to hold because it was so small.We also had the enchiladas which were also flavorlessThe margaritas ate some neon green bar mix that you can't taste any alcohol in.The server was scarce at best and not friendly.I have traveled to Mexico numerous times and this was not authentic or even remptely close to food i...
My wife and I met with friends for lunch including their two small children. We recommended this place as we have eaten here several times previously and enjoyed the menu and the service. Today however ranks as some of the worse service we have ever had. Orders of food were taken at different times despite all being ready to order. The meals arrived sporadically over 90 minutes and were never made aware of a child's menus until the end of our meal. The nachos were excellent but the fish tacos were average. We waited several times for over 15 minutes for our water to be filled until a jug was finally brought to the table. I am hopeful it was just an off day for both the server and the kitchen...
We recently were looking forward to a great evening with some awesome Mexican food at Hector's which has been great in the past. Unfortunately with the recent ownership change it appears to have really deteriorated. We were seated as per our reservation on time however it took an hour to get our food. The temp in the restaurant was hotter than outside, so clearly over 30 degrees C. Once our food came some of our meals were not very hot at all. We ate as quickly as we could so we could get out and get some air. We definitely won't be back.
We have visited many times in the past and always had a great meal. Yesterday the beef was burnt and the hostess informed us that when it gets fried the meat gets like that. We have had this meal many times and never had it like this before. There was no acknowledgment from the staff that this was a problem. A simple apology would have been nice. No longer allowed to reserve tables on the patio anymore and inside can be unbearably hot.
Had dinner at Hector's last evening. We were a table of 7 and ordered a variety of dishes which were all presented as expected and and in a timely way. We sat on the patio which was delightful. The restaurant was humming and the service was very good. The food was hot and tasty. The music was low key and enjoyable. It was a very good Mexican experience. Well worth the visit and we will go back.
A group of 7 of us went for a birthday celebration. The service and the food were great and the owner was awesome! The staff sang happy birthday after putting big Mexican sombreros on the two birthday guests. They were given complimentary drinks and a birthday desert! We were really impressed and surely would go back again.
