Hemmingway's Bistro

Charming ambiance, although must go down a short flight of stairs to enter. Service was professional, albeit rather slow for our 3 pm meal. Leftover brunchers were quite loud (having a good time, though! and hampered my ability to hear my dining companions. Menu was ambitious, and our selections were more misses than hits. The bread service was delicious, and the beet salad enjoyed by my companions. Beef Wellington was just o.k., as was the strip steak. The seafood strudel was more of a pouch, and the seafood therein was very dry saffron cream sauce was barely evident. Parking was difficult, but not unexpected.

This was our first time to eat at Hemingway's Bistro. My husband and I enjoyed the French style atmosphere. We asked several questions about the food and drinks and our server was helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered the endive salad to start. Then we appetizers Chicken liver pate and Shrimp de Jonge. everything was delicious. I also had a martini cucumber flavor (I forgot the name of it). Then the warm apple tart a la mode was heavenly. Overall it was a nice evening.

we love this restaurant. we often go. we have a rookie server, cold suppe, hard lamb and just a mediocre experience this time. Other tabs had much better service. we said to our waiter, we're celebrating two birthdays when we arrived and he forgot. we went without dessert, disappointed.

excellent. eating was good, with taking the baked fish speciality is mix. the service was excellent. the restaurant is generally quiet. this is not for the young crowd type that likes loud bar like venues.

Wednesday night is just super with live jazz. Couple this with the food, ambience and service it’s a super spot!
