We visit a relative in Villingen every few months and invite them to lunch. The last couple of times we went to Hildebrand and will probably return next time. One reason is the pleasant country atmosphere. The terrace is a great place for outdoor lunch. If the weather or season excludes the outdoor food, we don't care that we have to dine indoors because the indoor area is bright and airy with large windows that offer a view of the fields and forests outside. When you come in through the front door you have the pleasure to pass the smokers room on your way to the restaurant. A great smell right away. Unfortunately, if you are seated in the front section, where we sat, you have that smell around you during the whole dinner.The lady who took our order could not get it done fast enough. Cafe Restaurant Hildebrand bietet eine sehr gute bürgerliche Küche und wird deshalb von seinen Gästen besonders geschätzt. Erfreulich ist die gleichbleibend gute Qualität der Gerichte und die große Auswahl. Viele Fisch- ( Lachs , Rotbarsch, Dorade, .. ) und Fleischgerichte ( Rumpsteak, Zwiebelrostbraten, Kalbgeschnetzeltes, Schnitzel, Wild, ....sind auf der Karte. Empfehlenswert ist auch die Salatbar, wobei der gute Kartoffelsalat der Renner ist. Auch die kalte Küche mit Salatplatten, Wurstsalat und ähnlichen Gerichten ist gefragt. Also die Lokalität ist kalt und wirkt wenig einladend, sondern eher wie eine Bahnhofshalle. Wir saßen nahe der Küche und konnten dort das Treiben beobachten.Die Spätzle sind nicht selbst gemacht und werden in Behälter wie in einer Pommesbude warm gehalten.Dieser erste Eindruck bestätigte sich dann auch beim Essen. Es war lieblos angerichtet und geschmacklich schlechter wie in einer Mensa oder einer Kantine.Ich vermute dass die Leute dorthin strömen, weil es einfach viel Futter fürs Geld gibt. Da mir aber Geschmack und Ambiente wichtiger sind wie ein brechend voller Teller, ist dieses Restaurant definitiv nichts für uns.
Waren schon etliche Male hier zum Essen und sind immer freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient worden. Empfehlenswert ist eine Reservierung, vor allem am Samstag und Sonntag. Essen gut bürgerlich und sehr schmackhaft, im Moment eine umfangreiche Spargelkarte, sehr fein das Spargelgericht mit Lachs. Nicht zu vergessen das Salatbuffet mit einer tollen Auswahl, speziell zu erwähnen ist der lauwarme Kartoffelsalat!Ein Kompliment an die zuvorkommende aufmerksame Bedienung.Keinerlei Beanstandungen, wir kommen gerne wieder.
We found this place after a nice walk in the black forest. It is located in a small village on the edge of the forest. They had a good terrain outside and there were some good vegetarian options on the menu. We stayed at Holiday Inn, a short drive away. There was a salad buffet that came with the meal Very pleasant indeed, with special thanks to the friendly waiters from Gambia who spoke good English, what made it much easier for us. Recommended.
Schöne Lage, schnelle und freundliche Bedienung und Begrüssung, die Getränke waren rasch da und die Bestellung war ebenso schnell aufgenommen und verarbeitet. Die Speisen gut bürgerlich, frisch und lecker präsentiert, im Geschmack okay. Die Preise moderat und der Umgebung entsprechend.
