The dining room is beautifully decorated and would be great for a special occasion. We were served a nice little amuse bouche if lamb sausage with broccoli cream. There were five of us, so we tried quite a few dishes. The highlights were: -Suckling lamb...ravioli with artichoke and butter sauce was absolutely delicious and disappeared very quickly -Ricotta donuts with truffle and mushrooms mixed creamy ricotta with lovely earthy flavours -Loin of pork with lentils; the pork was beautifully tender and the lentils cooked in a rich stock The service was excellent and friendly. The bill was fairly reasonable for a fine dining experience.
We spend a great dinner evening at this place for the first time ... and certainly not for the last time. We not only enjoying the great hospitality of the entire team during the evening, but also the food was absolutely outstanding even for Munich...with probably the largest choices among Italian restaurants. But these appetizers and main dishes (especially the fish) was absolutely outstanding delicious and well presented. The wine list was long with great choices and the service was highly professional and very friendly. So .. very easy to feel at home ... and in Italy in a way.
We visited this restaurant on a holiday evening and it was packed. For good reason ... as the food was again very delicious and authentic. A delight. Also the wine choices were excellent. A little nerve-wracking was the speed of service to a degree that...we felt the team in the kitchen wanted to get everybody out as fast as possible. Each course almost followed the prior ... even asking for some time in-between was not respected. Which kind of killed a little bit the nice experience of a wonderful, relaxed Italian evening. I think the team can do much better than that ...

Nous sommes allés à Munich pour notre anniversaire et avons choisi Hippocampus pour le dîner en fonction des critiques. Cela n'a pas déçu! Ambiance calme dans un super quartier. Le service était incroyable et la nourriture était parfaitement préparée. Le lapin à la truffe vaut vraiment la peine d'être essayé
Nous passons un excellent dîner à cet endroit pour la première fois ... et certainement pas pour la dernière fois. Nous avons non seulement apprécié la grande hospitalité de toute l'équipe pendant la soirée, mais aussi la nourriture était absolument exceptionnelle même pour Munich.
Je suis allé dîner avec un bon client mais aussi après des discussions difficiles. L'accueil dans ce restaurant, l'ambiance et la qualité des plats ont fait de notre soirée. Voulez-vous un risotto spécial aux champignons, a déclaré le maître d'hôtel avec un panier plein ...
L'un des meilleurs plats italiens que j'aie jamais mangés. J'avais entendu tellement de bonnes choses à propos de l'hippocampe et ils étaient absolument à la hauteur. Si vous recherchez une pause dans la merveilleuse cuisine bavaroise servie à Munich, je peux très bien.

Visiting Munich for our anniversary and chose Hippocampus for dinner based off reviews. It did not disappoint! Quiet atmosphere in a great neighborhood. The service was incredible and the food was perfectly prepared. The rabbit with truffle is definitely worth trying!
