This place is perfect for a Sunday to reconnect with nature. I recommend starting with a 2 h walk in the woods around the restaurant, checking out bambi & co in the nearby fenced area. You might also want to check if reservations are needed before you walk (we got the last table) ... once hungry and happy, we sat down in a very cozy dining room, service was attentive, friendly and quick. We ordered mainly from the game selection, and everything was perfectly cooked, arranged, arrived hot and was very tasty. In the end I was surprised that it was 'only' 50€ for 2 adults + 1 kid. Highly recommended.
we feed the reh as we do so often and thought it would be a nice change to finish our trip with lunch in the brain garden restaurant. at the arrival I asked if we could sit outside on the terrace as the sun had. simply come out, the answer was very unfriendly, he said well they can see some tables have been set or not I ordered pumpkin suppe for my enkelin she is three) I asked that it be served with scrimps or pumpkin oil, it came covered with oil, she took a look and refused to eat it, I would have sent it back, but my food and her other big moms were not going to me
we enjoyed a flawless three-course menu with a rich and fresh salad, white carving and a beautiful dessert combo. the restaurant offers traditional food from the opposite, which is really appreciated (other ordered and praised the grne soe court.) friendly and professional staff, fast service and a wonderful location surrounded by a herde of brain in 10 m distance. excellent Covid-19 management.
The Hirschgarten restaurant can be accessed by car, bus transportation or best by foot through the spectucaular forest all round this beautiful rustic house in the forest with its own park where the deer roam. The service can be a little slow when it is busy, which is anytime when the weather is good, but is worthwhile waiting for. Good value for money.

Amazing location in the middle of the forest, unfortunately not accesible without a car or with a bus. The menu is kept simple but all dishes which I tried were delicious.The staff should improve its attitude towards their guest, quite unfriendly and unpolite. It will influence my decision of bringing my customers there in the near future.
My family decided to try Hirschgarten and weren't overly impressed. The food was ok, nothing special. The waiters were friendly and served us quickly, however the food was to rushed. The schnitzel was ok but the bratkattofel was lovely. Great location but there is better food around Bad Homburg
Nice cozy place, beautiful terrace to enjoy eating outside in summer, spring seasons, and a great idea to combine with a walk to Saalmburg castle. German cuisine plates, value fir money. Deserts were also tasteful
Great place for a family lunch and a stroll around afterwards to see the deer and the forest. Very children friendly. If you plan to go during popular lunch times, on the weekend for example you'd better book.

The restaurant is located amidst the first woods of the Taunus range and plenty of free-roaming deer. Traditional German and Hessian dishes. Prompt and friendly staff. Always happy to return.
Been spending time in that area since childhood. Favorite excursion for Sunday daytrips and school trips for everyone from Frankfurt and surrounding area.
