Got the Szechuan chicken, prawn spring rolls, and chicken spare ribs. Prawn spring rolls were actually pretty decent, good, crunchy, salty. The spare ribs were soaked in oil, the skin on it was slimey and hard to chew, they were the worst absolute worst ribs I’ve ever had. We feel sick after having them, probably had half a litre of oil in it. Didn’t think it could get worse and boom the Szechuan chicken was a sickeningly ketchup filled disaster with no Szechuan pepper in sight. The chicken had a slight poultry smell to it. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hoi's Kitchen, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was flawless. The Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce was perfectly cooked, while the chicken nasi goreng was bursting with flavors that made my taste buds come alive. The scallop dumplings were a dream, and the chicken skewers were both tender and juicy. My personal favorite was the roti with peanut sauce, and the chicken with black bean sauce had a rich, deep flavor that was simply divine. Overall, I highly recommend Hoi's Kitchen to anyone looking for authentic Chinese cuisine. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
**Service and Ambience [3.5]:** The restaurant had only one couple dining in, making it easy to find a table. The owner was friendly and communicated with us in Cantonese. The interior has a simple setup with limited tables, giving it a cozy feel. **Food [4.5]:** We looked at what other reviewers had ordered, and since those were also dishes we were interested in, we decided to try the same. The food was delicious and served hot. The stir-fried beef hor fun was slightly moist, whereas we prefer a drier version. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will definitely return.
Absolutely sensational. Went there on Saturday evening, they were booked ou but allowed a table for 1. Meals all looked so great and fair price. Ordered 4 dishes, owner advised I only needed 2. Wow what I got was the nicest Chinese dishes I have ever had and thought I would order more later. Absolutely perfect amount and I was so delighted. Will return everytime racing at Sandown. Our first visit today and we were very impressed. My husband I enjoyed the Yum Cha menu. Just perfect, you will not be disappointed. Fast, efficient friendly service very clean. We chose 7 courses, very fair price and within 50 minutes we enjoyed the best lunch. We will be returning with our friends.
