We stopped by for breakfast on a Monday morning and had a mixed experience. The server was not very helpful; when we asked for a kids' menu, we were informed they didn't have one, which seemed quite unusual. She also struggled to suggest any child-friendly options from the main menu. While the food was excellent, the service left much to be desired. The waitress only engaged with us when we pulled out our wallet to pay, which was disappointing. I would have rated this place five stars based on the food alone, but the poor service really affected our overall experience.
In terms of presentation, the chopped pieces looked a bit messy compared to a whole piece of chicken that might be garnished with a few bacon bits. However, the overall flavor was quite good, and the pricing and addition of Sriracha were nice touches. The waffle itself could use improvement, as it was a bit flat and lacked crispness, not to mention it wasn’t particularly fluffy. I’ll definitely return since there are other appealing options on the menu, and I’m sure they will be just as tasty!
The food is absolutely incredible and definitely worth the 45-minute wait. We passed the time at a nearby coffee shop called Junior while we waited for our table. I ordered the scrambler bowl, which tasted like a skillet, and it was super delicious. My husband was thrilled with his chicken and waffles, and our friend said her omelette was the fluffiest she had ever tried. Overall, we all loved our meals. The restaurant itself is charming, filled with fun artwork and plenty of plants.
Breakfast for lunch? Absolutely! Brunch for lunch? You bet! Pierogies any time, especially with a fried egg on top? Definitely! And diner-style coffee that gets refilled when you need it? Yes, please! While it may be a bit on the pricey side for breakfast, the flavors and portion sizes are impressive. The coffee mugs are comfortable to hold, making you want to keep refilling them! I absolutely loved the scrambler—it was fantastic! The potatoes and the pork belly bacon were particularly standout features. My only issue was the volume of the music; while I enjoyed the tunes, it was quite loud. It felt a bit like a nightclub vibe competing with a diner atmosphere.
I can't express how amazing this place is! Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious! The raspberry vanilla donut was the best I've ever had - it was incredibly tasty! With so many tempting options, it was tough to choose what to order. You definitely need to give this place a try!
It would be great if Hometown weren't so noisy and crowded, but after my visit, I understand why it's always bustling. The Salmon Eggs Benny was likely the best Eggs Benedict I've ever tasted, and the asparagus was cooked to perfection! The decor and music were also lovely.
