Our monthly hiking led our group of almost 30 seniors from Hitzkirch up on top of the Lindenberg. The fog had just disappeared which provided a breathtaking view over both sides of the mountain. Hungry as we were we proceeded to the reserved tables on the wintergarden next to the old place and waited for the dishes chosen from a list of five which the Restaurant gave to our group leader and we marked during the train ride. The hot soup came swiftly, followed by the chosen dish. Everyone was very happy about service and quality of food. One particularity at this place is that you can order a 1/2 portion, where technically possible. At long last here is a Chef who knows that seniors are not like hard working farmers or carpenters or the like. A wonderful experience!
we were a woman velogroup and were served without having been wrong in any wise way, *unbelievable unfriendly*. No one of us has ever happened in the art. we were made with every opportunity and "to the screw". we have not even dared to ask something with such an aggressive ton we were treated. a person who has chosen the wrong call. a single operation can thus unfortunately completely destroy a whole stay. the restaurant would be very nicely located with excellent infrastructure and more beautiful view. the lunch was good, even if we waited very long (almost 40 minutes) for it, but surely we will never go there any more.
After a drive through forest and arable landscapes, you will rise above the halwiler lake. The restaurant is great with good views (if there was no crystal November) the heat that strikes when entering the gas tube for the thoughts back in time. The food bill takes into account the seasons (wild) and occupies many traditional dishes and even local specialties. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the prices moderate. In short, a full effort! thank you!
