This restaurant looked very nice and is situated on a beautiful and open area. Therefore we decided to sit outside for a nice lunch. Unfortunately, it started raining so they kindly moved us inside, in the room upstairs. What was being a nice gesture became more of a bad experience! They totally forgot about us just after bringing us the drinks. We saw the people around us being served their starters, then their main dish and dessert and we still had not received our food. We asked for some bread twice and we had to stand up and fetch it ourselves. I chased the poor waitress who was responsible for 8 tables and more than 30 people by herself, to get our meals. After one hour and a half of waiting we finally got our food. No proper knives for the meat were given and we did not bother asking, being starving already. The waitress offered us the coffees but no manager came to apologise for the wait!We go to Aubeterre on a regular basis to show this beautuful village to our friends, but we will not be coming back to this restaurant. The price was not worth the wait!

Every Friday night there is an option of Fish and chips or pork satay for €10. They've recently added a children's option of chicken nuggets (reasonable quality), which was enjoyed by my daughter. We ordered eight Fish and chips and two chicken nuggets. All came at the same time and silence enveloped the table. Large portions for all. Crispy batter. Flaky chunks of fish. Even a slice of melon on the side which seemed odd but then was a welcome sweet at the end. Mostly clean plates except for a few chips as portion sizes were very generous. I'm pleased that the fish portion size has increased as during the winter they were smaller. I recommend that you book a table in advance as HdF gets very busy on a Friday evening as there is Happy Hour between 7 and 8.

Beautiful setting with outdoor seating. Sets a really good atmosphere. Delicious prawns although they forgot to add the chilli which was a huge let down as we love chilli garlic prawns. Everybody adored their mains, however, my main of the tarragon chicken was incredibly dry and tough to eat. the flavours of the sauce was beautiful though. Definitely worth a visit but just a little more attention to detail needed to ensure all ingredients are included and things aren't over cooked. Lovely staff.

An impossibly pretty square in the centre of the Town.We just had to stop for lunch after tramping through the cobbled streets and after browsing the other restaurants, decided to eat here.Although very touristy and full of Birits the set lunch menu was reasonable value and as light and delicious as the summer day.The staff were a little flighty but eventually we grabbed their attention and had adequate if not completely continued service from each of the 3 staff.
