Ok we are biased. We have be coming here at least 3 times a year since 1985, and honestly you will not find a more friendly family-run hotel in Germany. Sissi and Wilhelm have carried on from the great work started way back by Wilhelms parents, and they have now turned their very traditional restaurant into a gourmet paradise in the Rhine Valley, having won many awards in the last 10 years. Staff are young, friendly and very knowledgeable about all the dishes and more importantly for us, the wines. Rudesheim is one of those underrated travel cities yet is offers a lot too do. I am here to spend two days with my German family, and tonight we visited this fabulous restaurant. Their service is attentive and unobtrusive and the food is wonderful. I had the schweinschnitel which was tasty and a little on the predictable. Around the table we had cod fish, trout, another schnitzel, and a beef dish.We paired three with these bottles of a late harvest burgundy which was very light and went well with everybody's meal. This restaurant surpassed our expectations by a long way. Our schnitzels and other traditional dishes were beautifully cooked, very generously portioned and attractively presented. The desserts were equally bountiful, and the local wine was just as good. Everything was served in the friendliest manner. We were made to feel really welcome. Having eaten there once, we came back for another meal at the first opportunity. We strongly recommend this place, which clearly has a talented chef and good management. This charming hotel is not located on the front street and that was a positive for us. The trains run frequently and I’m sure all the riverfront hotels are impacted. The hotel was easy to find and just around the corner from the TI office. There is a love little gift shop in the lobby that’s worth a browse. The breakfast room was charming and there was a wide selection of hot and cold items. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A short walk brings you to the market square and the Main Street, where there was a fantastic selection of eateries. Thankfully, no,large tour groups while we were there.
My third visit here since 2008. Wilhelm and Sissi are wonderful. Exceptionally accommodating.. We were over two hours late arriving for breakfast, and they kept the buffet open for us. All of the staff are friendly and professional. All of our group meals are pre-ordered and paid for. While delicious, I can't say how good the menu selections are. Easy walking distance to Drosselstrasse and the river boat tours. Other hotels in town may be as good, but I'll always select this one if I have a choice.

A wonderful meal, in a wonderful historic setting which was marred by the arrival of a Viking Cruise led by their entertainments team who thought they were the only people there.....stay on your ship and leave Rudesheim and the Rudesheimer Hof Restaurant to serve good food to deserving customers!!!
