Connected with a fellow foodie last week and she suggested we meet at housewife.kc for brunch; a place I’ve been meaning to try since it opened. WOW!!! A cozy little place where before you even open the door to enter, enchanting aromas of earthy spices swirling in the air are enticing you to indulge. We had the SALMON TOAST**Whipped garlic chive cream cheese generously slathered a rustic slice of bread, topped with smoked salmon, pickled red onions and micro greens. A delicate balance of flavors that made my toes curl AVOCADO TOAST**All avocado toasts are not created equal! A rustic loaf, topped with creamy avocado, smoky chipotle tomato jam, punctuated by cilantro pepita pesto, pickled red onion, cotija cheese, and micro greens. Rich, creamy, decadence at first bite BISCUITS AND GRAVY**Soft, Buttery, Flaky, housemade biscuit, bathed in velvety chunky sausage gravy. My dish had the perfect amount of sausage to gravy ratio; the American dream on a plate!It was a delight to meet Owner Anna (who’s makeup was FLAWLESS/ SLAYING), her beautiful daughter and son, who work at the bistro as well. Our short interaction was very organic; they made me feel welcomed! It was evident that they have a passion for what they do and that passion was translated into their food. This family have successfully made Grandview a foodie destination! Looking forward to everything on their menu! #eatlikealadyshould

To be honest, this is absolutely one of the best caffes in the subway. I have tried various coffee shops around and housewife kc is easily in the top 3, if not number 1 in my books. the coffee is delicious, the baked are hands down number one, and that eating is excellent, all made from scratch. one I think that housewife has visited over another coffee shop I have visited is that the aesthetic is beautifully made to feel the city, but the service has touched this personal, small town. they know people with names and are passionate to serve the best of their community. their prices do not differ much from any other coffee shop, and trust me, they will pay for their food. there is something on the menu for everyone to like! this place is anointed with a love and joy beyond other places.

Such a wonderful place. The food is spectacular! Everything is delicious here, I personally love their almond croissant! Hands down best croissants in Kansas City! Anna and her staff are so friendly. If you haven’t stopped by yet be sure to.

Love it! Wonderful vibe, very clean, delicious food, and very friendly staff. The avocado toast was amazing. We also really enjoyed the biscuit and gravy (it’s huge and the almond croissant. Definitely coming back.

amazing atmosphere and interior with a cozy loft. great coffee and over the top food. our new hang-out spot.
