Hudson's Seafood House On The Docks

The seafood was fresh and delicious, but the service left a lot to be desired! Our waiter seemed completely disconnected from his customers. He rushed through a rehearsed spiel about the daily specials without making eye contact or taking the time to answer our questions. Mistakes were frequent, including attempts to serve us food meant for another table. When we ordered a whole fish, there was no guidance on how to properly eat it. It took him 15 minutes to bring us a plate for the bones, and when he finally did, it was a tiny bread-and-butter plate that was far too small for a fish that was a foot and a half long! Our first visit to HH and Hudson's was fantastic! The outdoor deck by the water offers a perfect setting. The service and food were outstanding, and the staff was wonderful. We felt very welcome, and it was nice to see everyone pitching in to keep things running smoothly (the owner even stopped by to clear away our oyster bucket and shells). Our server, Alejandro (or "Alex"), along with the manager, William, were both attentive and knowledgeable about the specialties and various dishes. This was our first visit, but it certainly won’t be our last. I visited this restaurant hoping to find delicious hush puppies, and I quickly fell in love with the place. It has a wonderful blue-collar vibe, fantastic food, and an amazing view! I ordered the fried oysters, accompanied by hush puppies, "Seven-Day Slaw," and potato salad. The oysters were tender, sweet, and had a nutty flavor. The potato salad was creamy yet light, while the slaw was both sweet and tangy—absolutely fabulous. The service was top-notch as well. It may not look like much from the outside, but once you step inside, you'll definitely want to return!

This is my favorite seafood restaurant in Hilton Head. The views and decks are absolutely gorgeous, and the food is the best on the island. I especially love the oysters, fresh shrimp, and fish. The service is consistently excellent. Whenever I visit Hilton Head, this is my top choice. Réservez une table maintenant

The food was enjoyable, just as I expected, but the wait to get seated was an hour and 15 minutes. The waitress did her best to keep us happy, but she clearly had too much on her plate. They really could have benefited from having one or two more staff members to help speed things up.

Extremely fresh seafood and fish. Directly from the boat to their kitchen to your table. Incredible atmosphere and location. Right on the bay. The outside bar and seating area is directly on the water. If you're visiting Hilton Head it's a must go.

I had a wonderful lunch on the dock this afternoon. The weather, food, and service were all fantastic. There was plenty of parking, and it was easy to reach just over the bridge.
