Visited for Sunday evening dinner still busy at 8pm, which was a good sign and provided for a nice atmosphere. Very pleasant surroundings with a modern nautical theme and helpful friendly staff who provided us with a menu in English. We both ordered soup as a starter with my wife enjoying the homemade tomato soup and for myself the North Sea shrimp soup was delicious too. I had the whole plaice pan fried served with bacon lardons that was easily the best prepared presented whole fish dish that I have ever had, served simply with boiled potatoes and sauerkraut. My wife had a large house salad that she said was very nice but I did feel slightly guilty that I was obviously really enjoying my superb meal so some additional choices for vegetarians would be a worthwhile addition to the menu as salad or pasta is quite limiting. However if you love fish seafood then you really should eat here.

Of course, if you are in Cuxhaven, do not look for what we think foreigners as German cuisine. `What you really want is fish head material, Northern food, the stinky stuff they get from the North Sea, plate-fried in bacon and accompanied by boiled potatoes and parsley. And here they deliver it in a stylish way. Actually, the Labskaus is perhaps the most user-friendly I've ever had with a beautiful roll mops, not fishy at all, as so many others could be. The menu is not too wide, quite limited to the local options. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is very typical. I recommend this place as a shop window of the Cuxhaven kitchen and the feeling.

It was a gray spell, and suddenly the sun radiated. We chose this place because of its proximity where we stay. We were not disappointed. The food was good and fresh. I had North Sea shrimps and typical German cucumber salad. My husband had a classic seaman dish Labzkou's corn beef with beet root, potatoes, cucumbers, hot rings in vinegar, roasted egg. Service was warm, fast, friendly. We sat on the bistro part. The restaurant is open in the evening. It's a beautiful find. We'll go back to sin more fish.
