I wanted to share this incredible restaurant my family took me to in Franklin Square called @il cantone cafe. After living and leaving Naples Italy I have had a hard time finding really great and authentic Italian food, this restaurant was awesome ! We orders several Appetizers -calamari, mussels, baked clams and artichoke hearts. We also has a margarita pizza appetizer that was devoured before I could take a pic! Just delicious! For Entrees I ordered the chicken marsala-it was perfect! My family also ordered the chicken parmigiana, grilled salmon and veggies, shrimp scampi, spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parmigiana. Very nice place! Food is excellent, service is amazing, and the bread is to die for. Portions for appetizers—and in general—are pretty large and almost everything is one size, so come very hungry and bring some extra money. The place is also very clean, the staff is welcoming, and everyone else seems to also enjoy the food. I came back about 4 times now this past month and haven't been disappointed! The location isn't the best—it's in Hempstead which generally isn't the best of neighborhoods—and there's little to no parking. There are also not too many tables; I have yet to go there on a busy night but I'm sure there'll be a wait if you go on one. Overall, I highly recommend Il Cantone Cafe...
If you want a great meal that won't break the bank, in a local restaurant, this is the place. What looks like an upscale pizzaria also has a cozy restuarant with full bar service. The ever present owner, Joe, and his wife, Ana, have high standards for both food quality and cleanliness. The dishes, while inclusive of the standard Italian fare, include imaginative regional and homemade dishes that are out of the ordinary and delightful. Give this place a try and have a cocktail with Joe. He pours a mean, generous drink. Great food and drink...whats not to like!
We waited over an hour for pizza, and when I approached the hostess (also owner) she rudely said do you know how many pizzas have been ordered, its lent and walked away. The waiter was the only one aware that a pizza shouldn 't take an hour. We waited another 15 minutes (now 70 minutes in total with kids), and told her we couldn’t wait any longer. She said ok . There was no apology or politeness. She was the rudest person I have ever met, and she owns the place, scary! I guess she doesn 't really want customers.
Il Cantone Cafe is an excellent cafe! I was invited there by the owner Wilson Pinilla coincidentally the owner of Pinilla studios(see my review about Pinilla studios). The restaurant is very clean. The food is very fresh. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very good! Stop on by if you are in the Floral Park area and enjoy an excellent night out. Hope to see you there!
