For the main course, I ordered the pork chop while my wife had the mahi mahi. Unfortunately, the pork chop had a strange flavor, reminiscent of low-quality or old pork. I took three bites and couldn’t finish it. My wife’s mahi mahi was passable, but overall, this place left a lot to be desired. I can't believe it has the rating it does—it's overpriced and just not good. One red flag was the Mountain Valley water they served instead of Pellegrino. For anyone unfamiliar, Mountain Valley water has a plastic-like taste, similar to cheap bottled water. It’s baffling that an Italian restaurant would choose Mountain Valley over Pellegrino. I should have taken that as a warning and left right then...
As for the food, everything was quite tasty. My pork chop was cooked to perfection and very tender. My partner ordered the chicken; while she enjoyed the flavor, the portion size was disappointingly small—almost embarrassing. The server claimed it was half a chicken, but there wasn't even a leg, and I would say it resembled more of half a Cornish hen on a good day. It included just two tiny pieces of chicken and two small potato pieces on the plate. The portion size was very strange, especially considering it was priced similarly to the pork chop and short rib. The appetizers, pasta, and desserts were enjoyable, but nothing that would leave a lasting impression. Would I consider returning?...
I can't recommend Il Nido highly enough. As a business, we frequently bring our partners and guests here after searching for the perfect place to take them, and I'm so glad we discovered Il Nido. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff is both accommodating and knowledgeable. The food has consistently been excellent, and the cocktails blend modern and traditional flavors perfectly. I usually opt for the pork chop, short rib, or ribeye. The menu changes from time to time, so last week I missed the pear that usually accompanies the pork chop, but the roast cherries were a delightful alternative! The new pear gelato for dessert was also fantastic. We'll definitely be back again next week!
Went there for dinner Sat Night. We had the blue prawns and crispy eggplant to start. Then everyone had pastas and a desert. I only ordered the prawns because of reviews I had read. I thought they were just 'OK '. However the eggplant and the pastas were fantastic. I thought that deserts were good as well. But the eggplant and the pastas were the standouts. Would go back for pasta in a heartbeat. Réservez une table maintenant
I've eaten at this restaurant several times and I absolutely love it! I have no complaints whatsoever. Every dish is incredible and fresh. The only thing is that you might want to plan your parking about a week in advance to secure a table, but that's quite reasonable compared to other new places that expect you to plan a month ahead. It honestly makes me laugh!
Very attentive and accommodating staff/service, I'd rate the service 6 stars if I can. My steak came out a little slow but was very good.
