This place takes a while since they are low in staff. They have lunch specials from $10-$12. They have several tables, and they are very clean, neat, and organized. I came around 1pm and it wasn't very busy at all. There was 1 person eating there and another person who came in for a Grubhub order. They have sodas, mango Lassi, available for purchase. They also have a bathroom for your convenience. They have 2 high chairs avalible for babies and small children. It was very quiet and it seemed like it wasn't very popular. First time here and the food was excellent! I ordered take out from this restaurant and everything was great. I was pleased with the quick service and hospitality i received from the employees. Blown away with the authentic taste and quality of the food. The food here is authentic and very flavorful. It is very hard to find quality culinary for Indian food. You can choose between mild and spicy. The spicy is really good if you like spice. It is hot enough without the overkill. I have been a regular here for two years, and this is the first time I am writing a review. The chef/owner Raj is hospitable and is always there. All foods are prepared to order. For an appetizer, I had a couple of Samosas. They were hot, right out of the oven; and their flavor was enhanced after a quick dip of each cut-up piece into some tamarind sauce. I selected an entree from the Lunch menu. It 's called Chicken Korma, and Raj says that it is made with chicken, curry and a touch of cream . It was delicious. We started with the pakora, which featured crispy, juicy chicken, accompanied by delicious dipping sauces. For our main course, we shared the Baigan Ka Bhurta (eggplant) and Chicken Saagwala (Tandoori chicken with spinach curry). The eggplant had incredible flavor, but the chicken was the real star, boasting the unmistakable taste of Tandoori mixed with a rich spinach sauce that puts regular creamed spinach to shame.
We initially ordered bottled soda, but they were flat, so we switched to cans, which were much better. There’s a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and I’m definitely planning to return to try more. Overall, I loved the range of options available!
I must also mention the service. I ordered online and was told it would take 20 minutes. However, when I arrived right on time, I ended up waiting another 20 minutes for my food to be brought out, making it a total of 40 minutes for a meal that left much to be desired. Additionally, the prices were not low, which made the experience even more disappointing. It felt like a subpar fast-food Indian experience—except it wasn’t fast, and unfortunately, it wasn’t good either. I think I’ll stick to my local favorite, which has consistently outperformed this restaurant time and again.
I ran into the same guy again, and we decided to try the local flavor once more. Unfortunately, he looked just as confused as he did the first time. Both vindaloo dishes we ordered were entirely too watery! The sauces were just thin and lacked the rich consistency we expected. What a disappointment! It should definitely be thicker than that. Very frustrating!
We have been searching all over long island for good indian food. We have finally found a hidden gem. Went with my family and had an amazing dinner. Great service and food! Great Indian food with a good lunch special. The place is nice and clean and at the end of our meal the owner came out and talked with everyone. Also, the table behind me had a very nice mother and son who have visited this place numerous times. That's a good sign for any restaurant.
