The food here is fantastic! My absolute favorite is the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie, and I'm also a big fan of their new red velvet ice cream. However, I can’t give a full five stars due to issues with the delivery system. It’s poorly managed, and I often find myself unable to determine when my order will arrive since there’s no tracking available from Insomnia Cookies or DoorDash when I use DoorDash. There have been times when my orders show up much later than expected, making it difficult to coordinate with the delivery driver. When I got there Sunday November 27th at 10:45pm the door was locked. However I could see the employees moving around in the back. After about 5 minutes of calling and knocking the guy came to the door and unlocked it stated that they were open but ran out of cookies but still allowed us (about 6 people) in and stated that there was limited Suply. After standing in line for another 5 minutes everything I wanted they did not have needles to say I drove all the way from Gaithersburg MD for NOTHING waisting time and Gas! I recently took a trip to Insomnia cookies because I have been on a luxury cookie tour lol....i have my thoughts. The location for me gets a 4/10, it was difficult finding a park, additionally, you have to PAY for parking as it is located in the heart of all of the college campuses. The cookies itself were a solid 7/10, though not too sweet and nice texture, it was simply just a Cookie . Quality 6/10, I just kinda felt like the cookies were thrown in the box. Overall, if I 'm ever in the area again and have an taste for some cookies and change for the meter, I 'd go back.
I tried the Red Velvet and Ice Ice Cream on a Deluxe Cookie with triple chocolate. The Red Velvet was just okay, but the triple chocolate was really delicious. I'm giving it three stars because the ice cream scoops were only the size of a ping pong ball, which was quite disappointing for the $11 I spent. Additionally, DoorDash did not track the order properly. I received updates from Insomnia's website, but DoorDash informed me that my order was delivered almost 30 minutes after Insomnia had already notified me of the drop-off. I tried to walk in however there was no parking (Sat night in CP what a surprise lol) so I ordered online and got a little worried when the delivery time was 30 minutes so I called the store. Denzel answered and was very polite and professional. He told me that my order was already being made and asked what kind of car I was in. Not too long after he came out and delivered them to me in my car!
This was my first visit to Insomnia Cookies, and I have to say, since they bake the cookies fresh on-site, you should expect to wait a bit for them to be baked and cooled. However, the wait is definitely worth it! The staff was very courteous and kept us informed about the waiting times. The cookies are warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious!
